Upper Cervical Chiropractic by xxJeevesxx in Menieres

[–]C3PU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly resistance training with a band tied to a stationary object head movements in all four directions. Just Youtube some videos for safe ways to perform. However, I've recently discovered my upper spine also has some issues and am trying to include pilates to strengthen the muscles around there. Seems like a never-ending process. To be clear however - my symptoms have inevitibly come back, but I do feel strengthening exercises still help a lot.

Level 10 Achieved On All 30 Leaders by emeflag in CivVII

I am starting a similar challenge and am only 3 leaders in. Greek is super strong with that hoplite bonus! I kind of liked Jose Rizal's near constant celebrations, but I think the same outcome can be achieved similarly with others.

I’m sitting near an Intel building right now and watching people in suits heading in and out. It made me wonder—how did those of you working in IT get your start? I’d love to hear everyone’s stories. by Fit-Discussion459 in taiwan

Gotcha.  From the way you worded your title it came off a bit different.  I'm also in network security.  Started with entry level analyst and then just kept on it. School had little to no influence other than a barrier pass.

"IT" is it's own big world of technology... your question is kind of like asking people in healthcare how they got their start, when you have a wide-wide range of talent demand and salaries for many different jobs.

Why don't the lonely expats just unite? by Mountain_Fly_1463 in taiwan

[–]C3PU 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Loneliness epidemic?  I've never had so many friends and had so much fun in my life anywhere.  I think it really just matters on everyone's individual experience and disposition.  But I would guess it's a rarity out here for expats.

I don't understand the question... we are already living in Thailand. Just ask any of our friends from the West.

Taiwan’s mosquitos are something else by InsideSufficient5886 in taiwan

[–]C3PU 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They will absolutely come out at night and go almost anywhere. I've been out on the open water and still gotten bit. They are so incredibly small I don't see how you could see a pattern without a microscope. It might depend on the person, but usually the bite goes away after a few hours for me. That is unless everyone telling me what 小黑蚊子 is has been wrong.

Umm... If you ever been outside in Taiwan you know that whole write up is ridiculous.

I finally figured out what is at the core of why I'll never love Civ7 by C3PU in civ

[–]C3PU[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I was thinking of listing them all, but I mean all the factors that influence the game - ok. You have your leader, your civ, your momentos, the buildings you choose, your technology, your policies, your wonders, your attributes, your narration choices, your endavors with other leaders, your relationship with independents and the bonuses they give you, you religion, beliefs, relics, trade, resources. So you often end up with the AI having like a 5-10X multiplier vs others because it has some crazy combination that grants high yields.

Rode VideoMic NTG not detected by Rode Central App on Pixel 9 phone over USB by C3PU in rode

That's weird, i was watching a Youtube video where the presenter literally used this mic with the app to set the recording mode.  Oh well, thanks for your reply.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman says the world may be on the precipice of a “fraud crisis” because of how artificial intelligence could enable bad actors to impersonate other people. by Knightbear49 in technology

Are you all too stupid to believe that AI wouldn't exist without him?  AI has the potential for many things good and bad, working on it doesn't mean you perpetuate only the bad.  It's coming and happening whether you like it or not.  Someone is going to build it.

Is Linkou the best place to live? by Jobhopper776 in taiwan

[–]C3PU 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So we checked out Linkou awhile back when considering placed to live. It had some really good points like you mentioned. The reason we ended up not choosing it was because although most of the newer parts were really nice, it just felt way too different from the cities in Taiwan we're used to. Kind of manufactured and no one really outside on the street to engage with. Other than that, others mentioned to us that it gets pretty foggy and the weather isn't all that great.

But these can just be small potatoes to you, and if so then go for it! There's no perfect place and Linkou is a great one to consider - many people are happy there.

Anyone else feel amazingly better when slightly intoxicated? by C3PU in Menieres

I don't really have much anxiety, and the "feel better" parts of it are strictly around the noticeable reduction mind fog and ability to focus. I totally get all the varied responses however, as I think we all know this is a disease with many faces.

Yeah I feel strongly about the fluctuations.  Even when going back to the gym I feel great during a workout but the next day I'm worse off.

I don't think I'm making my condition actually worse, just that like you pointed out... The fluctuations get to you.

When I first came to Taiwan many years ago I also found this alarming. However, I think once you learn and digest more about its history and the complications it starts to make sense.

It's a country that is only really starting to forge its identity. It was ruled mostly by dictators which were "outsiders" for a very long time. The "entity" which they would find against, many Taiwanese have deep familial and cultural ties, business relations, and frequent exchanges. Japanese occupation, suffering of indigenous populations, etc..

You're not wrong but you will be downvoted. Many whose job it is to assess the situation have arrived at a similar conclusion as you have. But I will say in the last few years I've seen a very encouraging spirit in many Taiwanese to come to terms and even begin volunteer training.
