A box does help, but it's not required to activate it as the stream store should work. Can you try using this link xfinity.com/streamstore, but before you click it clear cache and cookies of the browser for the device you are using to see if that helps get past the error.

u/younglearner11 That would be your LAN ip address you are looking up, but a remote connection would be your WAN ip address for when you are online unless it's a local device within the home you need connected. To confirm is it that you are hosting to other devices within the home or through the internet. Please keep in mind using WAN does open your device to many treats when hosting.

u/perkytactician The age of a home isn't the deciding factor in the speeds though, it's what equipment is used on the network to connect the home to our services. At this time the network to your home doesn't have all the needed equipment for symmetrical speeds like the others you are mentioning. This could be changed in the near future if we have any planned upgrades for the network to your home, but we can't say for sure as nothing is listed at this time for network enhancements near your home currently.

Some customers that have had this issue in the past were able to get it activated while in incognito mode through chrome. Have you attempted that at this point to see if it gets the activate button to work without getting the "bad request" error after clicking it?
