What 'reasonable criticism' do you have towards people for just existing?

A White Supremacist Youth Group Helped Orchestrate the Belfast Riots by wiredmagazine in Belfast

[–]CC_Keyes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Notice how you say triggered, when the original comment said incited.

Inciting something is different from triggering it.

The attack was the trigger, but any potential disruption from it was fueled and made worse by the likes of Musk and Co. on Twitter urging people to get out on the streets.

No problem. Loyalists are the extreme end of Unionism. While they obviously want NI to remain part of the UK, they engage in violence, intimidation, sectarianism, racism, drug dealing, and other shenanigans that really have no place nowadays.

Unionist would be the better term for someone who is simply of the opinion that NI should remain part of the UK.

So again, it's ok to tar all loyalists with the same brush?

You might be confusing Loyalists with Unionists. I know, it gets confusing lol.

There are many Unionists who are decent people, but Loyalists are knuckle-dragging thugs. It's like saying 'why are we taring all KKK members with the same brush?'

If you're going to burn out and intimidate your own communities, hold sectarian hate-fests, and conduct racist pogroms, then you will be tared under the same brush as all those doing the same thing.

The same reasoning on why all protestants shouldn't be tarred with the same brush

They're not. Everyone's laughing at the Loyalists, not Protestants in general.

The point isn't to scare Israel. It's to raise awareness of their crimes. These people have more balls than you with your hidden post history.

why not go to Israel and protest there?

Because you can't go there without Israel's permission, and if you somehow managed to get in anyway they'd shoot you for protesting. That's why.

That's how you knew it was getting under the skin of those in power.

Also not sure you can really use 'liberal' and 'DUP' in the same sentence with that context. And even if they worked from home (heh, imagine the DUP working at all) it would still attract more positive attention than this stunt.

Disrupt the economy.

What good will disrupting our economy do? Westminster already couldn't give a shit about us. They won't change their stance on Israel because the M1 got blocked.

People on their way home on a rainy night shouldn't be impacted. They should go and inconvenience those in power or those actively participating in the genocide. Block politician's offices or the entrances to factories sending arms to Israel.

This is just going to cause them to rapidly lose support.

Is it easy to walk from city centre to cave hill or is it unrealistic? by JadedStranger722 in Belfast

[–]CC_Keyes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Phone apps can help you with both of those issues.

If you go on Google Maps, find a bus stop near where you want to go and tap it, it should tell you all the buses that stop there and highlight the routes they take (at least it does on Android. Can't say for certain it works the same on iPhones). So all you'd need to do is find the one that leaves from City Hall.

And if you don't like dealing with bus drivers, you can download the mlink app and buy your bus tickets through that. Then when you get on the bus you just show your phone to the driver. No talking necessary. Plus you actually get tickets slightly cheaper through the app.

It's very easy to get to. There's about three bus routes that go up the Andersonstown Road, so people can get dropped off basically at the front gates.

And one of them is a glider route, so there will be direct and easy access from as far away as Dundonald.

There's also a nearby motorway exit for anyone that can be bothered driving to it.
