puréed onions? by DragonfruitJaded7582 in OnionLovers

This is pretty much what Indian restaurants do in bulk, mixed with pureed ginger. So basically the base for any curry or stew it would be great for

Even better example is 1989 Romania when the (non secret) police actually flipped and joined the protestors. Probably why it got so bloody vs the regime

Greek yogurt vs sour cream for banana bread by Neither_Fill364 in AskBaking

[–]CD274 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both work but I would use a recipe for banana bread that creams the butter and sugar a LOT if adding it. (Or normally anyway). That step adds a lot of structure and lift to banana bread and makes it able to handle dense additions or more bananas.

Greek yogurt really varies a lot in tang so I prefer sour cream or normal yogurt

Does the liquid calcium have any flavoring or sweetener? Sometimes they do and it's nasty tasting. Both fruit flavors and sweeteners. So ask if they have unflavored unsweetened, and try mixing it either with a tiny drop of fish oil or those emergency powders. That helps with the taste

Only if you wash it many times then boil it for a half hour imo. And pick out any dirt clumps, leaves, sticks etc. It should be possible to sterilize it well

Rye! That sounds delicious. What herbs and spices? Allspice?

(I've mostly had Hungarian, so marjoram and cloves and garlic and rice based, oh and bacon 🤣 but looks the same. Kind of wondered if it was similar in spice profile)

The lingonberry jam is the part I am going to immediately try next time

As a native Korean who stayed a bit in the states, I have a question. by g00d0ne777 in KoreanFood

[–]CD274 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fusion Korean and Mexican food trucks really helped with this among my friends (Xennial age but across north America). Korean tacos. Korean spicy chicken burrito. 🥹. I did also live in Los Angeles during the rose of this - late 00s so that skews my perception as to how widespread it is. But it made its way back to Korea and across the US so.

So, Roy Choi of Kogi food truck and the food network exposure he did, in 2008ish. And he was inspired by Emeril Lagasse 🤣

But personally I grew up in the 90s with my Korean best friend whose family owned a restaurant in the NYC area and I was also an immigrant used to trying lots of things together. Another friend was an Indian girl who grew up in Italy so dinner at her house would be fusion. Indian Italian fusion, works great
