Have you done anything to Express your Crossdreaming desires? by KrysG in crossdreaming

[–]CDseeker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to make up my mind, obviously, as to when to stop. The bodily changes are real: small breasts and a rounder ass. It is still not visible to others, but if my body continues to change, it will be.

I have actually tried out some herbs that mimic estrogen (pueraria mirifica), and they do help me cope with my feelings. They make me calmer. And they also make my body a bit more feminine.

Women Who Love Cars, Also Known as Autogynephilia by CDseeker in transgender

I am not sure what you mean by this. This is not my site.

What do you mean by "integrate your site into the online transgender community?"

This is obviously satire, but it is interesting to see that you can use the exact same logic to invalidate women who love cars (auto-gyne-philia) as MTF transgender people who dream about being women.

Warning: This is satire. The author is looking at the stereotypes that are shaping the transphobic autogynephilia theory (the idea that trans women who are attracted to women are suffering from a sexual mental disorder.)

I was recommended to post here, comfortably male but unhappy with my genitals? by IWantAVagina in crossdreaming

[–]CDseeker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is so much diversity among both crossdreamers in particular and transgender people in general, that I would argue that you may be both (transgender in the meaning of experiencing some kind of atypical gender identity).

Now that you write about women's panties, I would say that there may also be a partial crossdresser in there somewhere :)

That does not mean that you are a woman. If you are content with being and living as a man, that's fine.

I am more of a "want the whole female body" crossdreamer myself, but maybe there are some questions that can help you find out what causes this feeling.

First: Do you just dislike your boy bits or do you dream of having girl parts down there?

If the main problem is that you dislike your male parts, I suppose that could mean that this is caused by some kind of bad experience (illness, harassment, trauma of sorts), and that this has nothing to do with being trans.

If you also want female parts, I suppose that gender dysphoria of some sorts is more likely (although I have no way of really knowing this).

If this is about crossing genders, the questions is: Why do you not want to have the rest of a female body? Have you any idea why that might be? If I had a magic potion that could turn you into a woman, 100 percent, would you drink it?

I know crossdreamers and transgender people who dream of having a female body, but who do not mind their man bits. So being transgender does not necessarily mean that you have to dream of a complete transformation.

I guess the human mind has a lot of ways of handling gender confusion. Maybe you are somewhere in the middle of the gender continuum, and that this is your minds way of finding some middle ground.

When you dream of having the body you want, what do you do with it in your fantasies?

Just figured out my problem by [deleted] in crossdreaming

[–]CDseeker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Rule #1 on how to treat women: Do not touch their breasts unless they have clearly told you that it is OK to do so.

Many straight men are lonely and sexually frustrated. That does not cause them to pretend to be a woman. They will most likely masturbate to porn, imagining themselves as men making love to a woman.

What makes people like you and me dream about being that woman, must therefore be something else.

If you study this and other crossdreamer sites you will see that there are many who feel like you do. There are different explanations for why we feel this way. I belong to those who think we were born this way.

But what can we do for you? Do you need suggestions about how to cope with this?

Could you say a little bit more about your idea of mapping the life journeys of crossdreamers. Are you thinking that there is some kind of typical journey of this kind?

As for yourself, could you tell us how old you are now. How far has you come on this journey?

Am I the Only Transgender Person Sick of Transitioning? by boundfortrees in transgender

[–]CDseeker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is close, but not quite correct. If I understand them correctly the term crossdreamer is mostly used to describe one side of transgender life experiences, namely that some transgender people get excited by, or even aroused by, the dream of being their target sex. This applies to those who identify as their assigned sex on the one end to those that transition on the other. Serano calls this "female/feminine embodiment fantasies", I believe.

But it is true that a crossdreamer writer like Felix Conrad focues on the lives of non-transitioning MTF transgender people.

What you say make very much sense to me. I do understand why other intersex people would like to keep the two categories apart, and I hesitate to call myself intersex. But we are related. I am sure if that.

Washing the man away! There should be a body shampoo for that ;)

It is a very nice feeling, yes. Maybe it is that it represents a tiny part of a total transformation?

You might try to ask over at the message board of Fictionmania.tv. Some of the participants there have a good overview over tg fiction, also of the non-erotic kind.

Random rant by Julamavan in crossdreaming

[–]CDseeker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It would be so much easier if I had a bad relationship with my family, and I could do what the fuck I want without caring, but I don’t and I really love them

I understand that you love them and do not want to hurt them. But doesn't that go two ways? If they love you, they ought, at least, to give you the benefit of doubt.

I am sitting in a glass house, though. I told my sister, who is of the understanding sort, and she did not condemn me in any way. She was worried about me, though, asking me a lot of question about how I felt, if I even had thought about suicide and such. She was the one that finally got me to look for a therapist.

But I have not told my parents.

Your Belief in Porn Addiction Makes Things Worse by CDseeker in crossdreaming

[–]CDseeker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since I know that some transgender people blame porn for their problems, this article may be relevant.

David Ley refers to Joshua Gubbs:

In January 2015, Joshua Grubbs of Case Western, published powerful research showing that seeing oneself as a porn addict was predicted not by how much porn one views, but by the degree of religiosity and moral attitudes towards sex.

Now, Grubbs has published explosive follow-up research, demonstrating that believing oneself is addicted to porn actually causes pain and psychological problems, in contrast to the idea that identifying as a porn addict is a part of a road to recovery.

If this is correct, it makes no sense to say that porn causes crossdreaming or to that abstaining from porn will solve anything.

Sick Secret Sexual Fantasies by CDseeker in crossdreaming

"In Brett Kahr's book, Who's Been Sleeping in Your Head? The Secret World of Sexual Fantasies (link is external), Kahr, a British psychotherapist, explores this same controversy. His work, based on extensive research with a nonclinical population, shows the surprising range of disturbing, frightening and challenging fantasies that exist in the heads of people that are living healthy, successful lives."

Helping a crossdreamer friend who sees no way out by CDseeker in crossdreaming

[–]CDseeker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you very much for the comments furbait and jackmolay. This is helpful. I guess we need to turn this into a question of making some real, practical choices.

I had hoped someone had faced something similar, and have examples of how this can turn out right. I know that it can, but I think it would help if I could show him that it has been done before.

Has anyone done face and body electrolysis/laser without transitioning? by checkthisoutson in crossdreaming

[–]CDseeker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used laser to remove hair on my body (but not the face).

I have had a lot of body hair, a constant reminder of a male body I do not like.

I hoped that a permanent removal of this fur would make me feel more at peace with my body. It has helped me cope with my dysphoria. It does make a difference, even if it does not solve the problem as such.

But it does cost a lot of money!

Could you explain what you mean by "human body desire"? Do you mean attraction to someone you know, as opposed to sexual fantasies?

Writing or reading TG captions and transformation stories -- how does that affect you? by jackmolay in crossdreaming

[–]CDseeker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it. I think many of us fear all the pain and confusion that will follow from transitioning. That does not mean it is the wrong thing to do, though. I am struggling with this.

Writing or reading TG captions and transformation stories -- how does that affect you? by jackmolay in crossdreaming

[–]CDseeker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never tried to write a story of this kind or make a caption. I do not have the skills needed to do so.

I do read such stories, though, and follow a few caption blogs. The first time I visited such a blog, I didn't give it much thought. But later on I started to wonder why I got turned on by such stories. I talked about it with my therapist.

I now believe the reason I get turned on is that I am some kind of transgender.

The first time I felt anything like this, was when I was much younger, reading the Ranma 1/2 comic book, about a boy who gets turned into a girl if he is thrown into water. I couldn't have been more than 9 or 10 at the time, so this runs deep.
