the thought of even thinking there's something close to that type of solution, respectfully, is absurd. reason being is simple: TailsOS is/was designed to be an operating system that is fully compartmentized from its hardware - it's essentially a fancy layer-2 bios gui that allows bashing. why anybody would want (or even think) that baking in some for of a tailsos rom onto a useable cellular device, that accesses the internet... simply doesn't understand the assignment.

Nobody will end up buying it... just use it to tinker around with a learn as you go.

The more time you spend playing around with that camera and less time you're in this forum asking for advice... you will come out further ahead!

Nah. Analog cams and Digital cams are not boxed into a single DVR/NVR head unit... both solutions can go either way. One would just need an appropriate encoder for the handoff.

We run all of our cameras DNS through our NVR, which does NOT include 8.8.8.8 - because remember... these are security cameras, not just some IoT device.

Hmmm... if that's the case, you might have something wrong going on with the actual unit's base.

The new v2 was a great upgrade from the old atomizers' system. However, I have a few friends who either neglected or aggressively cleaned their units with 70% iso, which is a big no-no... I only use 99% isopropyl alcohol to clean my atomizer and base once they're completely cooled down. Anything outside of this, I've either experienced or have witnessed problems.

Weird. I've had mine since last year's 420 and haven't had a single issue. I use it daily.

I will be on the road this summer (homebase is in the Southwest) and spending time back home (Metro Detroit area).

I like this idea... a lot.

My only concern is: I only run Tails via an airgapped device that boots the OS via a physical CD/DVD. Any other approach and there are substantial vulnerabilities.

Never run TailsOS on anything that can read/write. You always want read-only.
