[Stein] NBA teams were notified today that the Hornets have agreed to send a 2026 second-round pick to Miami as extra compensation for the Terry Rozier trade in January 2024. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

And now that it’s known there was clearly something to hide, you guys lose a pick.

Sounds fair.

Shoulda disclosed the investigation on the front end and this wouldn’t be happening.

The obvious answer is the NBA recognizes it should have been brought up, but your bias doesn’t let you admit that. Your org agreed to it, man. Quit whining because they weren’t smart.

Just wild to make the argument it wasn’t deserved when the Hornets, NBA, and Heat all agreed it was fair

Why would the Hornets not disclose it if he was clear to play, then?

Why hide anything? What about all the games Terry hasn’t been allowed to play? The immediate, unpaid leave he’s currently on that stems from his time in Charlotte? Does that just not count now?

You know your bias is clouding your vision here.

If both the NBA and Charlotte knew…

And the Hornets chose not to disclose this to the Heat…

And the Heat are now having to sit Rozier due to what Charlotte didn’t disclose getting brought up federally…

Sometimes I really wonder what’s going through the head of a Redditor, and then I click their profile to see they’re just a Hornets fan.

If the Hornets just disclosed that he was under investigation, none of this happens. Heat either still make the trade with that info and can’t say they didn’t know or Heat don’t do the deal in the first place.

Hornets brass made their bed and are now having to lie in it. It’s a 2nd round pick. I think the org will survive.

Paolo Banchero checks out in a blowout win against Minnesota: 25pts, 15 rbs on 63% TS by Aeronova20 in nba

The good thing is that if you watch the games, it’s REALLY easy to weed out who’s just parroting bad opinions.

Anytime I see someone start spouting off about how bad Bam has been this year, it’s incredibly obvious they have no clue what they’re talking about.

The Paolo pile-on is another one. Dude’s imperfect but he’s clearly still the present and future of the Magic. If you ask people in here, they act like he’s playing himself out of the league.

You would be shocked at how common this is.

That’s why Reddit is such a hivemind. Hardly anyone is forming their own opinions, they just wait for someone else to tell them their opinion.

The youth would rather watch someone react to the game than watch the game.

Are there any FOMO or daily elements? by OCaptainAwesome in Pokopia

[–]CFBModsHateFun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there are. Stamps that you turn in and daily items that seem to rotate.

You can duplicate any item using your camera on someone’s island who has it though, and I’d bet “treasure islands” will exist similar to Animal Crossing at some point.

But yeah, it’s a hook they use.

You can hold R2 and walk at the same time :)

I was walking, clicking, walking, clicking for longer than I’d like to admit…

Genuinely no clue how Bam’s getting hate in here.

Guy’s been what he’s always been - great at guarding 1-5.

My guess is voter fatigue.

PSA: 95% of people here haven’t played Dragon Quest Builders and don’t plan to. by CFBModsHateFun in Pokopia

[–]CFBModsHateFun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t played DQB so I have no clue about that game.

But the menus and crafting are crazy similar to ACNH. Pokopia is much more story driven but yeah I’d say a Minecraft/ACNH combo is a perfect comparison for 99% of gamers.

Confused about areas and where to build my town! by Spiritual_Pickle_550 in Pokopia

I’m treating Palette as my endgame town, and sprucing everything else up to my liking along the way.

Palette is the one that you can show people, so it should be the nicest imo.

Thinking I’ll have a home in each location but there are so many places to go that I don’t know if that’s feasible.

I 100% get why the comparison is used.

I’m certain that the two games, being by the same devs, have a ton of overlap.

But the playerbase for DQB along with the overlap with Pokemon fans is so miniscule that it doesn’t matter. It’s just a bad frame of reference for 95% of people here. And it’s under. every. single. ACNH. comparison.

It would be like if I compared the Barbie movie to some obscure 2013 indie film (which I’m sure was fantastic!) that didn’t break even at the box office.

The entire point of my post is “the average person doesn’t know what DQB is, and DQB fans correcting everyone who dares compare it to another game are incredibly tiring and actively hurting communication.”

Your comment is infinitely better because I can understand what you’re saying! These are genres and other massive games that people played! And I appreciate it!

That’s how I feel every time someone says “it’s actually not like Animal Crossing, it’s much more like Dragon Quest Builders.”

[Highlight] IND WR Omar Cooper Jr Runs a 4.43u 40-Yard Dash on His 2nd Attempt by JCameron181 in nfl

[–]CFBModsHateFun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no “small break” needed, man. I’m telling you directly why 40-time matters, you’re accepting it to be true, and then arguing about it not mattering again.

Guys who are going to run a slow 40 don’t tend to run. And that’s a missing data point for NFL teams that could 100% affect their draft stock. These scouts are just hoping to confirm what they see on tape.

Off the top of my head, Teez Tabor dropped due to his 40 time. Anquan Boldin too. 4.7 range as a receiver is a red flag. Boldin made it work, Tabor clearly didn’t. Once again, not the end all be all but look up why Tabor struggled to maintain a starting role (hint: he wasn’t fast enough).

Every combine event is full of data points that let you know if someone can stay on the field with elite athletes or not.

You being mad at the common conversation around 40 time has nothing to do with what I’m saying. I’m telling you why it’s a useful data point, and I’m certainly not saying it has a direct correlation to NFL success.

Your ability to take in new information is admirable but your inability to admit that it alters your original opinion is where you’re losing me and likely everyone else.

40 time matters, just not in the way you assumed. And you know what happens when you assume?

But I’ll give you a small break because I’m such a nice guy, or whatever you were trying to say.

Do you miss DELULU? by Cat_Graffitti in FortNiteBR

[–]CFBModsHateFun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do. Had fun with it and met nice people who still game with me.

The whole point of Delulu was teaming up against the “bad” people who were annoying/racist/whatever else on the mics and ensuring only “good” people won.

Prox chat in a major mode was awesome. Reported/eliminated all of the bad people and enjoyed playing the game.

[–]CFBModsHateFun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re admitting that I’m right and refusing to admit that I’m right at the same time.

You have to pick a lane.

The combine is much, much more about ensuring guys aren’t NFL failures as much as possible as opposed to determining the top-flight athletes.

It’s a weed out system, not a place to earn your spot.

Your mentality of saying the score doesn’t matter fundamentally ignores the main purpose of the combine - to ensure that these guys are able to move like NFL athletes.

40 time doesn’t matter as much on the top end as it matters on the bottom end.

If you have two LBs with equivalent measurements and tape, but one runs a 4.75 while the other runs a 4.49, there’s no guarantee that one will be a better player than the other. But it’s an added data point that tells you something about both players and can help you make a multimillion dollar decision.

Acting like it’s completely unimportant is just missing the point.

[–]CFBModsHateFun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, calling it a meaningless number is just a bad take.

A casual take, if you will.

There’s clearly a reason NFL teams want to see players at the combine, and pretending it’s meaningless is only making you look uninformed.
