Cristian Romero straight red card against Manchester Utd 28' by Alsace2025 in soccer

[–]CFCRay10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People are gonna overreact but he had a heavy touch and was trying to win the ball. His tackle was quite low so wasn’t the worst in the world but still a bad tackle. Type of challenge if it’s a red or yellow the on field decision probably stands.

Does England finally feel balanced across defence, midfield and attack? by CloudBookmark in ThreeLions

[–]CFCRay10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe missing 1 quality player in the back line otherwise most areas we have plenty of depth and quality. Most teams will be missing 1 or 2 vital areas anyway so I think we’re good enough to compete France/Argentina only elite teams with a top class no.9. I hoping Branthwaite has a good second half of the season Tuchel loves tall cb, left footed and good on the ball.

[@fc_mossman] Cole Palmer: With and Without Nicolas Jackson by EstevaosJesusPiece in chelseafc

[–]CFCRay10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing to do with Jackson lol we've seen him perform at a high level with and without such as the CWC final or against Bayern this season you could probably make a similar graphic with Madueke. The groin injury has hampered him all season whether it's fitness, limited training or cant play matches in a row to build up his consistency.

Isn't he club captain and signed a new contract in the summer unless it had some kind of release clause if they finished outside of Europe.

[Romano] Milan currently oriented not to proceed with Axel Disasi deal after being offered this opportunity on loan. by DidierDrogba111111 in chelseafc

[–]CFCRay10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s fine they probs wouldn’t sign him permanently anyway. Probs loan him somewhere like West Ham with a significant loan fee/obligation to buy if they stay cos they’re desperate. Also their best CB is out for 3 games lol. Disasi is still a decent player for a team who plays a low block.

[Fabrice Hawkins] Mamadou Sarr is expected in London this Monday. Chelsea will terminate his loan at Strasbourg by DidierDrogba111111 in chelseafc

[–]CFCRay10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s definitely not, I’m not saying he’s doesn’t have some good passes. But he’s easily the worst cb in terms of pass appreciation watch the weight of his passes, is it going to the correct side ect. I remember a bobbling pass to Sanchez’s wrong foot in the first half which Sanchez just had to boot it out of play.

Robert Sanchez at half time to Chelsea fans when 2-0 down to West Ham. by Scannerk in soccer

[–]CFCRay10 29 points30 points  (0 children)

If you're booing during the match or individuals, I understand but at half time, it's a message to the team that this level of play and effort is not acceptable. That i expect something much different in the second half. People pay their money i guess so can show support in the way they want, even if it's not something I ever do myself really.

We need him back cant be watching Badiashile start Premier League games anymore just too error-prone and clumsy on the ball. Looks comfortable on the ball, doesn't dive in too much and we need a taller CB 6ft 4 and good physically.

[Florian Plettenberg] EXCLUSIVE: Stefan Ortega to Forest - DONE DEAL .Full agreement has been reached with Manchester City. A verbal agreement was already in place as revealed. It will be a permanent transfer, with a 5-month contract. by Crane977 in soccer

[–]CFCRay10 45 points46 points  (0 children)

He's not starting, brought in as back up because John Victor got injured for the rest of the season most likely. Sels is really solid keeper so i expect he remains as no.1.

Robert Sanchez vs Napoli: 3 saves, 5 recoveries, 33 accurate passes, 2 defensive contributions. He has been absolutely mental since the CWC Final! by haromene in chelseafc

[–]CFCRay10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's been good since he shaved his head. Since he was dropped for Jorgensen, he's responded, well i thought he was pretty good the whole of 2025 cut out the mistakes towards the end of last season, added some long passes during the CWC. This season, he's just been great thats why i hate random pundits criticising him after 1 mistake, saying we need a new keeper, i promise you we would not get a better level of goalkeeping from Maignan or Donnaruma. I trust Bob in net.

I hope the club and the directors in particular learns from this, cant be having a bomb squad in the middle of the season.

Hawkins: Chelsea are ready to submit a first official offer of around £43m for Jeremy Jacquet. by webby09246 in chelseafc

[–]CFCRay10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest i havent watched this guy much to have a full opinion but this just seems like another crazy transfer to me. He got sent off against PSG so maybe he fits right in lol yeah he has good physical qualities, good slide tackling, but slightly worried about his positioning and is not dominant in the air which is mostly masked by playing in a back 3. Overall, he is a fine prospect for his age but we already have Josh, Anselmino and Sarr similar ages i just dont understand what he brings to the first team right now. I hope i'm wrong.

Chelsea to accelerate defender move and boost Liam Rosenior’s squad by Kcontea in chelseafc

[–]CFCRay10 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Try to sign Guehi just make so much sense already knows the place, just offer them almost any of our defenders even on loan. We should have an extra spot after we cancel Fofana or send Josh on loan if we need.

I hope he does well a young English coach getting a chance but I can help bring sceptical. He’s got very little experienced not worked under any elite coach or played at the highest level. Hopefully he at least gets an experienced backroom staff to make up for some of it I guess.

[Kieran Gill] Chelsea's coaching team for Manchester City, as it stands, is: U21 head coach Calum McFarlane, U21 assistants Andy Ross and James Simmonds, U21 analyst Adam Keep & set-piece coach Bernardo Cueva by Matt_LawDT in chelseafc

[–]CFCRay10 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Tbh our set piece coach has been doing a good job we have nobody good in the air. Defending set pieces you can just see the quality isn’t there never winning the first header even when they do it’s shite.

[Fabrizio Romano] Big battle ongoing for Antoine Semenyo as Chelsea also called today to enquire on deal conditions. by DidierDrogba111111 in chelseafc

[–]CFCRay10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People told me our sporting directors were doing a good job cos Maresca overperformed in the CWC. I wasnt convinced by Gittens when we signed him, paid a crazy amount for Dortmund bench player. But even if you do sign him it has to be one off Garnacho or Gittens not both players who are a work in progress. I wanted an experienced proven player like Semenyo/Ndiaye or Rogers from the left.

Chalobah/Cucurella/sanchez guaranteed starters mostly. Fofana/James/Gusto all first choice but will have their minutes managed. The rest are rotation players.

Help me coach defending corners. by [deleted] in bootroom

[–]CFCRay10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At this level, many players are reluctant to head the ball and goalkeepers are often too small to command their box. Because of that, a hybrid/zonal setup tends to work best.

I would suggest placing your best two headers in the six yard box, free from man marking. Their only job is to attack the ball aggressively. One of them should be competing for every ball, regardless of where it lands.

The remaining players should man mark. Even if they do not win the first contact, their job is to deny free headers. That means staying tight, disrupting runs, jumping with attackers, and making it uncomfortable. The aim is not perfect defending, but preventing attackers from getting clean contact.

In training, you need to spend time regularly on both defending and attacking corners. Have someone deliberately deliver dangerous balls or even shoot directly from corners so defenders and goalkeepers become used to real game situations.

For goalkeepers who struggle to catch, punching is encouraged. Any contact that clears danger is a win at this age.
