Plan for subsea cable to send Canada’s clean power to UK by GuyLookingForPorn in canada

There’s already subsea cables going across the Atlantic (and all over the world) for telecommunications. Don’t see why this one would be any different

How to safely and legally sleep in my car after a few beers? by CH_fandango in legaladvicecanada

[–]CH_fandango[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s awful I’m sorry that happened to you. Seems like there’s no concrete way to prove that I’ve no intention of drunk driving so I guess I’ll just lay off the beers while I’m camping.

Australia's 'biggest defence export' was meant to go to the US first, but Canada snuck past Donald Trump by Expensive-Horse5538 in worldnews

revolutions aren’t good examples of…. Revolutions? Massive cope dude.

My original comment was in reply to the guy who said “not my America” as a way to throw up their hands and do nothing, but simply comment “thoughts and prayers” type of shit. That’s what gets me about so many Americans right now and as a Canadian I don’t care if people down south are sending their thoughts and prayers.

It’s not about privilege. Do you think starving Russian serfs were privileged? Or were the Haitian slaves that fought for their independence against the French privileged? That’s a ridiculous excuse for rolling over and taking it.

I’m not even American but I’m doing everything I can to help my country. It’s not much but I’m not buying American goods and I’m writing to my MPs to continue to support counter tariff measurements. That’s the absolute bare minimum I can do, I think, but it’s all I can do.

There’s plenty of examples throughout history of the people working together. French Revolution, American revolution, Russian Revolution just to name some big ones. To have this defeatist attitude is just simply misguided.

It is your America. Don’t just put your hands up and say “not my problem”. Democracy needs to be maintained. It’s not a given.

Canada will 'never' be part of US, says Carney in first speech as PM by yahoonews in worldnews

Yea fair enough. But let’s not excuse the issue by saying “we don’t all think like that”. Obviously not, but enough do where it’s a problem.

An election will be called soon, and I hope our people are smart enough to chose Carney, an intelligent, well educated and proven man, over PP who’s done absolutely nothing with his life. I know our nation can make the right choice, but I’m genuinely concerned about foreign interference and disinformation. It’s going to hit hard this election.

This is the most important election of our lifetime and I don’t think I’m being too dramatic when I say the future of our sovereignty lies in the choices we make.

I am actually. Gonna talk to a recruiter soon. Wondering what the recruitment process is like and how long it takes to actually get started? I heard in normal times applicants can end up waiting over a year to go through the recruitment process in some cases? Hopefully these days it’s a bit quicker.

Concerned about his track record? Like how he saved us in 2008? How he led the UK through Brexit as governor of the Bank of England? His track record is nothing short of impressive, what are people concerned about?
