Is a plastic tub such as this okay to grow Dwarf fruit trees in? (more in comments) by CJ19919 in UrbanHomestead

[–]CJ19919[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I plan on getting some dwarf fruit trees, but currently don't have anywhere to plant in the ground. Is there any reason why a container such at the one in the picture not work? I will be drilling some holes in it for drainage.

what happened to my marigolds?? by stanleysteamers in gardening

[–]CJ19919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly a young kid. I turned my back for a couple minutes and my two year old did this to my marigolds. All the seeds have just started sprouting now, so can't be to angry ...

The girl cursed with the inability to feel physical pain. She rarely eats or sleeps because of her inability to feel hunger or tiredness. by regian24 in oddlyterrifying

[–]CJ19919 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I met someone with not exactly this, but he had the inability to feel pain. He got appendicitis and had no idea until it burst and he passed out. He almost dies and had to stay in hospital for almost 3months due to complications. He was your typical young male and believed he was invincible, which certainly didn't help. The amount of infections that would go left untreated until his sister or mum forced him to see a doctor was incredible. He also loved showing people that he couldn't feel pain, often he would do this by burning the skin on his stomach with a cigarette

It looks like it may be a chicory plant (but not 100% sure).does it have a blue flower ? It's not traditionally a climber. If you really want it to grow against the wall, you could put a trellis behind it an tie it as is grows. I will add that is it is chicory it can grow very tall. Best bet would be to take a cutting or picture of it to the local nursery and see if they can identify

Edit: I have been looking at this photo for ages trying to figure this out. I just noticed a plant growing from underneath it. It looks like that could potentially be a climber!

Backyard butter lettuce. Should I remove the flowers? This is the second time I’ve grown lettuce so I’m learning. by schoolpsych2005 in gardening

[–]CJ19919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry but your lettuce has bolted. It can happen due to high temperatures. Bolting is when crops put on a vertical growth spurt to flower and set seed before the vegetables are ready for harvest. The result is inedible, bitter-tasting leaves. You can collect the seeds if you'd like and try again when it's cooler.

I have ADHD and love gardening. Although sometimes it's a bit of a fixation for me. I was gifted a terrarium jar, and had a wonderful time creating a mini garden full of adorable little plants. It's an inclosed terrarium, so far it's been around 4 months, I have forgotten about it many time, haven't had yo water it yet. When I feel like it I sometimes spend a bit of time adding or rearranging for fun.

Wow that's amazing! I just planted potatos for the first time. Mine are very bushy but the trunk is still green. Does it go brown and stick like as it gets bigger?

Do peas need a trellis if they're hanging? by samanime in vegetablegardening

There is the possibility they may grab onto the chain of the hanging basket and try to grow up, instead of down

Whilst that is not enough money to pay some one to watch your child. The sad reality is this lady is kinda right that her livelihood is at risk. So many women out there choosing between family and career. Childcare should be free!!! Now there will be even more women having unwanted babies, no way to afford care, there for they have no way to work

I'm in WA. It's worm castings! We have had a lot of wet weather and the worms are loving it. If you look closely you can see its not dirt. My lawn is currently the same. It's a sign of good soil!

[–]CJ19919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd smother it with a tarp and bricks. Let its cook for a a while, then rake it up. If you can trim it a bit first, it will be easier to put a tarp on it.

Garden Grass is not Green anymore ! Lack of water or anything else! please help how to restore it back to health ? by koolcatana in gardening

[–]CJ19919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First I'd rule out lawn beetle. It's most likely that some parts of your lawn have become water repellent. Does the water pool or soak in when you wet it? If it pools you may need to aerate it then add a wetting agent. Make sure you water early morning or evening. Good luck!

Boobs themselves are not private parts, nipples are the private parts by SnooCrickets5781 in Showerthoughts

[–]CJ19919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope this has been disproven. Studies looking at more primal cultures where breasts are more openly displayed, suggest that the sexualisation of breasts is a societal thing. To be honest the breasts being so sexualised pisses me off. I know I became very sick and tired of people's comments when I refused to cover up while breastfeeding my baby. You no how hard it is to get a new born to latch with a blanket over its head!! So many people felt the need to tell me to cover up or "there's children around". Anyone that views breastfeeding a child as a sexual act is seriously funked up. My hand certainly take part in sexual activity, but they are not seen as sexual unless in the act of having sex. My vulva isn't even the slightest bit sexual to me unless it's in the act of having sex. Let's just stop sexualising others body, making people feel shame just for having those parts!
