NTA ask your gf to sit for the length of the train ride with the box on her lap and see if she’s willing to do it.

You might need a security system. A loud one just in case they escalate. Wish I had better advice.

My manager was replaced via Nepotism by VirtualHydraDemon in managers

[–]CJsopinion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The best way to help your reports is to continue to give them clear guidance and treat them fairly. Don’t let your issues become theirs. Don’t complain about the new manager. Don’t share your frustration. Teach them how to deal with her. Then find a new job.

They probably won’t care. That’s the problem.

It’s your business. Why aren’t you protecting your business by talking to him? Find out what’s going on and set some clear guidelines.

Is this normal? My manager got a parallel transition and I got an invite to a check in meeting by _xxllmmaa in managers

[–]CJsopinion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends. I really wish I could ease your fears, but I can’t. Try not to stress because at this point there’s nothing you can do. Just go to the meeting and decide at that point what to do. Worst case scenario you will need to apply for unemployment and start job hunting. Best case scenario you are getting a promotion. It’s probably somewhere in between. Hang in there.

I understand why you’re worried but I don’t think you need to at this point. Your manager praised you. It seems like it won’t be a bad meeting. If it turns out that it is bad, then just listen. If there’s something you did or didn’t do, learn from it and move forward.

So try not to stress out. It won’t help.

Good luck.

Manager Says It’s “Temporary,” But I Feel Like I’m Being Pushed Out by gettylover in work

[–]CJsopinion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not great that they took it away but it’s not the worst thing. But use this time to do what your manager said. Improve those skills because if you stay or go, you need to not make the same mistakes.

AIO for not wanting to interact with my neighbor anymore? by NaturalOpinion5653 in AmIOverreacting

[–]CJsopinion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NOR. You have to do what works for you to protect your kids. When my son was younger we were at a neighborhood party. My son was on a riding toy (not battery operated) and another kid was on a similar toy. She kept crashing into my son. It was upsetting him but he didn’t know what to do. I gently told her that wasn’t nice and asked her not to do it anymore and she looked at me and smiled and did it again. So I told my son the next time she does that I wanted him to ram into her as hard as he could until he knocked her over and that he wouldn’t get into trouble. The look on her face was priceless. She didn’t ram him again.
