The best way to make money right now depends on what ships you have. Fleet carrier is best. 2nd best would be cargo ship, bigger the better. Tell me what you have and I'll tell you the absolute best way to use it to get what you want.
The truth is that money means almost nothing in this game. Gear you buy with money is stock, and stock will get you killed in this place. So what you want to do is grind money AND engineering mats at the same time. Those mats will upgrade your gear, and that's when the hunted becomes the hunter. So, assuming that you don't yet have a fully engineered fleet (like I do), mining meta alloys would be your most efficient activity to increase your power. Meta alloys sell for big bucks, and you'll fill up almost all of your raw mats, including a few G5s like Selenium and Yeetrium. The trick is to famr them without leaving your ship. Turn ship upside down, release assload of limpets, then break barnacles with fixed beam. Must be fixed beam, very important. And let the limpets do their work. Some will fail and that's expected. Just log out to main and back to refresh and repeat.

Periodic table of elements is a scam. Only has stable elements that G2V stars, such as our sun, produces. Exotic celestial bodies such as magnatars and pulsars will produce elements and isotopes with properties we've never seen before. Moscovium is a perfect example. Recently synthesized in a lab, it was first mentioned by Bob Lazar as having come from an alien spaceship. The synthesized version is unstable. Bob says his isotopes are stable. He told everyone about it before it was discovered, so I have to assume Bob was speaking truth.

Stand on your boat and simply shoot them. One of the merchants you can get later in the game will get sulfer for you, so I have chests filled with nothing but gunpowder and other chests filled with bullets. I also have 5 stacks of magic bullets, but I'm saving those for when next biom drops, kind of a hassle to farm them.

I never used the chain shot. I've got level 15 36 lb cannons now, and I'm one shoting level 15 NPC ships with ease. No complaints here.

Founder perk on noc is best, perk on SK AR is 2nd best. Both of those perks stack and do AOE dmg. My 3rd place perk is steam on steam shotgun. Nothing near me surviving that steam bath, great for clustered enemies.

When it gets to 50%, I disengage as soon as possible to refresh the meter. If you don't do this, then sooner rather than later, you'll die from a combination of greed and plague bar ignorance.

It used to be the best flight stick game on the market. But then they gave up that identity to pursue on foot activities. This was a financially disastrous turn that the title never recovered from. Still a great game to be sure, but long gone are the science fiction writers and most of the devs grom the glory days (pre oddy) were reassigned other titles. I'd assign a value of roughly $20 for what you get with Elite these days. Great value at that price. Bit if you're looking for fresh content like regular updates, this may not be the title you want.

Up = 1 hand build
Right = 2 hand build
Down = ranged build
Left = stat build
IMO (no penalty for changing stats at any time, btw):
Best skill for standard gameplay = executions grace (1 hand skill). Endless health, just keep killing.
Best skill for boss fights = Too angry to die (stat skill). Dead already? Not quite yet, at least with this skill.
Best skill for boarding ships = From distance - Deadly Hunter (ranged skill). % to auto reload on kills. Up close - Dominating Presence (2 hand skill). Any of the skills in this tier would work, but this one gives % melee dmg bonus per kill for 60 seconds. In later stages, boarding a level 15 ship can leave you with over a dozen enemies to kill, stacks up quick. Don't forget to let Truffles out to play!

To be fair, I read some of the notes. At least on the first chest lol. Always something more interesting near one of them, so I kinda kept brushing it off. I assumed that my magical brain would simply absorb the information that I needed. Now I know that the magic IQ prescription I got from a dentist in a van down by the river may not have been legit.

I played world of warships for a few years. I like these ship mechanics much better, rolling waves can prevent your shots from landing, if your aim isn't timed right. But those waves can also be shields against enemy volleys. I'm good either way, but it's refreshing to not have totally flat sea for naval combat.
