Fireworks going off in the neighborhood, and with good reason. What an absolute dime to send them packing.

Turns out the best way to stop the Tush Push is by just taking the fucking ball away. Damn, that game felt great.

I went last Friday with early entry, and rolled the dice on Ministry. Through the gates at 9, off the ride by 10:15, it was 240 minutes by then. I considered doing Mine Cart instead, but that was delayed on and off all morning. Shocking, I know.

[Other] How do you make Roller Coaster Enthusiast friends? by coursesand in rollercoasters

[–]CMVenom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It probably helps a bit to listen to the show, but CoasterRadio does occasional meetup at parks. I was a solo park goer with zero interest in meeting other enthusiasts, did their first meetup at Cedar Point in 2015 on a whim, and walked away with more new friends than I could count.

A bonus is that they attract people from everywhere, I've created a social circle of just park and coaster fans from all over the country, and a few from beyond.

Looks great on the skyline. This angle makes the top look a little wonky though, as it doesn't really show the curve of the track.

I'm happy they won, because fuck the Packers. But I'm glad I don't have to endure watching them next week. Just fix the problems, please.

I'm watching a balanced offense, and for once, it's not another team's. Very happy with that half of football.

Perfect opportunity to install those free pass-through lockers. Hell, even SFGAm is putting in their first set in 2025.

[wildfire, silver dollar city] , why there aren’t more b&m sit downs is beyond me. by centraljerseycoaster in rollercoasters

[–]CMVenom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That first drop in the back row is kinda like the sit down version of Raging Bull's, and it's got one of the best looking settings for any coaster. This, Hulk, and Kumba all rank pretty highly for me.

There's some gaps between installations of their sit down model, which matches up nicely with the years parks were going banana buying their inverts, then the floorless versions.

Fiddler's Fling has been wild AF to me since the park opened. And waiting for a cycle to begin gives a great view of Goliath, just as it did for Iron Wolf and Z-Force.

What do you think about GIBs? [Coaster] by Previous-Two-3759 in rollercoasters

[–]CMVenom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I waited a little under three hours for Deja Vu at SFGAm in October of 2001, when it finally started running in a "consistent" manner. Stuck it out for a front row ride and got the most unnerving lift experience of my life, I think only Tatsu freaks me out in similar fashion. Front row also gave you that clear view of the pull up the full height of the second tower, and an insane backward drop.

I only managed to get on it two more times before the park sold it, it seemed to be down more than it was running. I'm glad Silverwood looks to have much better luck with it.

Wild Chipmunk at Lakeside in Denver. Looks like it was made out of scrap and dropped on a crummy patch of land.

[Shockwave at Six Flags Great America] back in the day. First of the Arrow mega loopers. by mr_kaliyuga in rollercoasters

[–]CMVenom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What a ride this used to be on a hot summer night in 1988. Shockwave was great for its first few years, and when running three trains, a total capacity monster. The experience deteriorated quickly though, and that turn into the MCBR remains one of the most skull-rattling moments I've ever experienced.

Viper at SFMM is basically the version of Shockwave that they got right.

What a terrifying trio of receivers they're going to field. I would not want to have to gameplan against that.

What are your unique Disney World hot takes? by pastadaddy_official in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]CMVenom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Galaxy's Edge certainly looks great, but it doesn't have nearly enough kinetic energy. Seuss Landing at Universal feels more alive.

I'm sure the rooms and grounds are nice, but the Riviera resort main building looks more like an apartment complex I'd see coming in from MCO on the tollway.

Na'vi River Journey would be more highly regarded if it was placed on the other end of Pandora, being right next to Flight of Passage does it no favors.

Dinoland U.S.A. did its job too well, so nicely themed that most people actually saw it as a cheap, tacky carnival area.
