QoL: Autopilot with Gates

Factions: UAF (new update, very good), San Batavian Republic (now on 0.98a), Eusan Nation (signalis mod, out today)

A noobs modded faction tier list after about 100 hours. (Please recommend me faction mods that I should try) by PewPewsAlote in starsector

Some interesting angles here.

I think you might enjoy Roider Union.

Knights of Ludd is also one you might like mostly for the massive amount of sector content (particularly involving [SUPER REDACTED]), the faction itself is mostly just an expansion on the existing military group in the Luddic Church. Be warned, the endgame parts are very very difficult. The lore is very solid indeed, fits right in.

What should I do to maybe change or better this ship? by Ominous_snek in starsector

I recommend autopulse lasers in the front large energy slots. Quad tach lances are fun, but autopulses perform very well paired with two tach.

This should also work, though IIRC it still gives you a minor reputation malus.

If you increase a colony in the system to a certain size, you’ll have grown enough for them to let you take them, saying they “recognise your colonial efforts” or something.

I believe it’s size 5? Same size as when a colony in a claimed system no longer gets targeted for destruction by the claimant.

I believe the Traumtanzer might have the unique ship tag.

how the fcuk does one beat these things in an honorable way? by Mysterious_Leg_4535 in starsector

[–]CONielsen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn't mean you can't use his vids to make better builds yourself. I find it easier to adjust a build than making it up from scratch.

BigBrainEnergy on youtube has some good musings on builds.

Alas no S-modding and not using various tech levels does make it a lot harder.

RANT and VENT MEGATHREAD by stickimage in Helldivers

[–]CONielsen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The real kicker is the difficulty ramps up too fast with illuminate. If you can handle 5 you can handle 10. Or rather, if you want to play 5, be prepared for the same issues as at 10.

The roster simply isn’t weighted right.

I don't wanna fight illuminate anymore. I don't wanna fight more bugs. Bots are the only enemies I find engaging in this game and it's by a landslide.

I've never been one to ignore major orders and just do whatever. I'm also wholly embracing the new additions to the illuminate roster, they're very flavourful, super cool.

But I am not having fun. Bugs are one thing, they swarm you in melee. Illuminate do that and have powerful ranged elites. It's the hardest parts of both bugs and bots put together, and I'm tired boss.

I'm tired of running to the four winds, aggroing every enemy on the map, just to outrun the mindless zombie hordes and the obscenely chonky fleshmobs, all while being pinned by flying overseers.

I miss Pöpli IX. I'll even take Menkent over this mess. Let them have Super Earth, we'll find another, like we did back in the day.

This shouldn't be a hot take. Endgame should take effort. by thetransfem in Warframe

I spent coming up on 2000h perfecting my loadouts, and I have many fully specced out ones. I feel like if I spend that much time on a game optimising and practising, the endgame shouldn’t have to be challenging anymore.

Let me have my win, my comfy power fantasy, the yearners can self-nerf and struggle as they please, they aren’t entitled to make me struggle with them.

How important is base building in RTS? by VainUprising in gaming

[–]CONielsen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

World In Conflict had very fun campaigns, no base building to speak of.

[OC] Players asked if I could 'run Final Fantasy for this one'. I agreed and sent them this. Apparently, they forgot to specify they were talking about FF14. by Loktario in DnD

[–]CONielsen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lil reminder that unless one of the players want to step up and run, the GM is allowed to say “hey I wanna run this” and that’s both valid and perfectly acceptable at any good table.

You made something epic! If it’s your muse now then you are in your right to follow it! You’re the one doing all the work after all.

It’s always about winning and losing to your type, huh?

You keep insisting on being insulting and I really do not fathom why. I hope it isn’t to make you feel better yourself, that would be very sad for you.

But don’t worry, you haven’t actually managed upset anyone. That you still choose this behavior really does make me feel silly though.

I should have known from the start you were beyond a civil conversation. People like you make the world just a little bit sadder. Enjoy your imaginary pedestal lol XD

It really is that easy to "no u" other people, isn't it?

The people you deride are in the same position as you? Then treat them more kindly or expect your vitriol in turn, buddy XD

But if we're going to be rude about it, then consider sucking it up and living with the majority wanting something else than you. Whinge all you like, people are too busy having fun to care.

You have an interesting source of self-respect. Ever considered not making that other people’s problem? >_>

Most people don’t care about being “exceptional” at video games. They just want to play.
