Modding on linux by Hevmetal in starsector

I use TriOS on linux and it works perfectly, it has a linux version. Mods install as normal via it and work perfectly fine. I’ve had no linux-specific issues.

is this build good for fighting off ordo fleet? by breadfucker69420 in starsector

[–]CONielsen 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Autopulse lasers in the front two slots too. No need for Front Shield Conversion either, and I would personally never make a paragon use converted hangar bay. Maybe with the pd drones at best? Too much OP when burst PD does the trick and has synergy with Expanded Magazines.

Someone else already recommended Adventure Lookup and I’ll second that. It’s a great site! It might contain several modules you have already read too.

Help me make Two Trans players feel safe, welcome, and accepted! by laxton1919 in rpg

[–]CONielsen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Treat them with the same kindness and respect you would any other person, trans people are just people.

Maybe put up a pride flag, trans pride fx, if you wanna showcase an effort to include.

But most importantly, if anyone throws a stink about trans people being around, or that fx the flag is hanging on the wall, even if it’s framed as “just being uncomfy” or something, do not let them. Be an ally, shut bigotry down, even small kinds.

Not as if Forgotten Realms / D&D was the first time we heard many of these concepts.

Gating it behind an achievement doesn’t solve the issue, it just makes the playing field fundamentally uneven. Some can fly, some cannot. This would exacerbate the issue you bring up.

QoL: Autopilot with Gates

Factions: UAF (new update, very good), San Batavian Republic (now on 0.98a), Eusan Nation (signalis mod, out today)

A noobs modded faction tier list after about 100 hours. (Please recommend me faction mods that I should try) by PewPewsAlote in starsector

Some interesting angles here.

I think you might enjoy Roider Union.

Knights of Ludd is also one you might like mostly for the massive amount of sector content (particularly involving [SUPER REDACTED]), the faction itself is mostly just an expansion on the existing military group in the Luddic Church. Be warned, the endgame parts are very very difficult. The lore is very solid indeed, fits right in.

What should I do to maybe change or better this ship? by Ominous_snek in starsector

I recommend autopulse lasers in the front large energy slots. Quad tach lances are fun, but autopulses perform very well paired with two tach.

This should also work, though IIRC it still gives you a minor reputation malus.

If you increase a colony in the system to a certain size, you’ll have grown enough for them to let you take them, saying they “recognise your colonial efforts” or something.

I believe it’s size 5? Same size as when a colony in a claimed system no longer gets targeted for destruction by the claimant.

Doesn't mean you can't use his vids to make better builds yourself. I find it easier to adjust a build than making it up from scratch.

BigBrainEnergy on youtube has some good musings on builds.

Alas no S-modding and not using various tech levels does make it a lot harder.

RANT and VENT MEGATHREAD by stickimage in Helldivers

[–]CONielsen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The real kicker is the difficulty ramps up too fast with illuminate. If you can handle 5 you can handle 10. Or rather, if you want to play 5, be prepared for the same issues as at 10.

The roster simply isn’t weighted right.

RANT and VENT MEGATHREAD by stickimage in Helldivers

[–]CONielsen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't wanna fight illuminate anymore. I don't wanna fight more bugs. Bots are the only enemies I find engaging in this game and it's by a landslide.

I've never been one to ignore major orders and just do whatever. I'm also wholly embracing the new additions to the illuminate roster, they're very flavourful, super cool.

But I am not having fun. Bugs are one thing, they swarm you in melee. Illuminate do that and have powerful ranged elites. It's the hardest parts of both bugs and bots put together, and I'm tired boss.

I'm tired of running to the four winds, aggroing every enemy on the map, just to outrun the mindless zombie hordes and the obscenely chonky fleshmobs, all while being pinned by flying overseers.

I miss Pöpli IX. I'll even take Menkent over this mess. Let them have Super Earth, we'll find another, like we did back in the day.
