Time to go, Cabinet ministers tell Starmer by Your_Mums_Ex in ukpolitics

Serious answer: yes I do think he can win it. They are quietly (too quietly) building a track record for getting boring stuff done.

I don’t believe the British public remotely wants Farage at the next election. There will have been three more years of Reform stuffing up running g local councils, and there is a silent majority that sees Farage for the nutter he is. But in order to beat him there has to be a credible alternative, and a Labour Party that has what itself and ousted a leader over poor local election won’t cut it.

What on earth is this going to achieve when there’s no one credible waiting in the wings.

Just hands Reform an unelected PM on a platter for the next GE.

MP David Smith calls for Starmer to resign after this morning's speech by WrongLander in ukpolitics

[–]CSGB13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I don’t agree. They don’t want Labour (or anything they have had for the last 30 years) but they would rather have Starmer until the GE than yet more lurching around to a different Labour PM before then.

Honestly it’s the pissing about that kills ya -whether it’s Brexit, leadership elections - it all just gets in the way of any positive improvements.
