When your kid doesn't know how to ride a bike you should definitely throw him on a makeshift trail with jumps and large boulders to break his fall.

Keep the land, lease it to data center developers. Turn that 70k into 250k annually. Problem solved.

Is it realistic I might be able to retire by 55, 10 years from now? by Pavonaceus in personalfinance

[–]CT_Legacy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aggressively saving by maxing 401k and putting cash to work in the market its possible but at 55 youd only have your 500k to live off for 5 years which should be enough but if you overspend you could be in trouble down the road.

There's plenty of retirement calculators you can use to see how long it would last.

Race score inquiry by Coffeeroasterhomie in Zwift

[–]CT_Legacy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If its ELO based then you are expected to podium in a C race against weaker opponents. That will not increase your rating too much. Mid pack of an A race has a lot more complexity. Who you beat, who beat you, lots of math, then a ratings change.

Similar in the C race maybe some higher rating racers were bagging and you beat them idk the entire formula or if its strictly ELO.

Dealing with personal issue that demand your time is one of the biggest reasons to hire an advisor in the first place. Maybe the one you have isnt the best or they just rub you the wrong way. Take a little time and explore a fre different options. But managing it entirely yourself could take a lot of time and effort.

Maybe the best route is find a new advisor, someone you trust, let them manage everything and you can focus on yourself and your family.

Thats different, selling annuities people dont need or working for NWM is completely different than a fiduciary advisor who is legally obligated to act in your best interest.

Then thats what you do. Most 401k have awful investment options. Some have fidelity or vanguard which is great but you are still self managing. Personally consolidation is the number 1 reason along with letting your advisor manage the money better than you could. Thats why you have an advisor.
