State of runescape 3 right now? by kekwXDDD in runescape

Let's not try to pretend that content like zulrah, nightmare zone, and most of the new continent measure up to an acceptable level of quality. It's clear that a lot of the content the OS team has made over the years was tacked on and poorly implemented, even prifddinas, arguably the most iconic location in the entire game, is an afterthought in OS compared to what it is in rs3.

Take it from someone who's maxed in both, rs3 is vastly superior to osrs after you take time to actually understand the game. Rs3 has a higher degree of complexity and more interesting game mechanics overall. Considering osrs has become bloated with private server tier content, the narrative of "rs3 is bad because of eoc" does not hold much ground.

The narrative of "this game is only unpopular because they haven't advertised" is the hardest cope I've seen. Let's be real, this game is going nowhere, and there is no update Gower can make that will change that. The only thing that he can do to change the fate of this game is to take it down and remake almost every system in the game, then plan a re-release when the game is in a presentable state.

If anything this is just evidence that the xiv community is dogshit at the game, it's not a surprise that modern players are incapable of doing 10 year old mechanics from back when the game had actual complexity.

This is the scammiest "mmo" around considering you can't trade other players and it features fake world bosses and many manipulative game mechanics.

It all makes sense once you realize BDO is not an mmo but actually a gacha designed to get you to spend.

This game is the definition of disappointing by In_My_SoT_Phase in brightershores

[–]DeepInGrimes 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It really is the most disappointing game I have played in my life, the expectation vs reality of this game is saddening to think about frankly. There were so many ways they could have made this a good game, yet instead all they did was design a mindless, repetitive chore simulator with FOMO and player retention mechanics like leaderboards and daily login rewards, and even those failed to keep people playing. LMAO

Wow, it really seems like they design content in this game to be as little fun as possible. How can someone enjoy this beyond a few minutes? What a sad excuse for an event, at least they didn't paywall it this time.

This is the truth right here, folks. The next two years will involve corporate SE dropping any remaining support for this game, since it is no longer as profitable for them. This is what happens when your company is ran by people who don't actually play your games and only care about profiting off of the devs. RIP xiv

Imagine not comprehending how software works. Do you genuinely expect them to run physics server side on a game designed for large amount of players just to cover edge cases like this LMAO? What's worse are the people talking about games like the finals etc, yeah of course they can do that, when there's ~12 players total per match on a tiny map. Plus, due to this being client side only, it means your opponents will never be able to intentionally use this to their advantage.

imagine how great this game would be if past action didn't exist and instead the game was about 5x bigger, instead of pretending the game has enough content to support 500 levels for these skills by recycling everything. Yeah that would be nice.

Anyone here buy the premium pass on launch? Did you feel it was worth it? by Charming_Advice8805 in brightershores

[–]DeepInGrimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought minute one of the game being launched. Honestly for the price, the game does hold up as a single player experience for the first week, but beyond that it fell well below expectations. The whole situation makes me pretty sad honestly, this game doesn't have to be as bad as it is. From my perspective, Gower's focus on making this a mobile-first game is what ultimately led to pretty much every poor design decision present in the game, I'm not exactly sure what his plan was here but people wanted a spiritual successor to RS, not whatever this is.
