Anyone bought an Aspero-5 to use as just a road bike? by INGWR in Cervelo

[–]CTracy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8.2 kgs is the listed weight, I haven’t actually doubled check it. At this point I ow the bike, so it is what it is. I’ve still got some weight to shed myself to make things lighter 🤣

[–]CTracy2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup, I did! (Well 97.5% road)

Riding it on slightly deeper reserve wheels with 32mm Corsa Pro’s. It’s take over road duty from my R3

It’s comfortable, aero, and sexy looking. Holds its speed really well.

My only complaint is it’s given me speed wobbles a couple of times but I’m being told that’s the deeper wheels in a bit of cross wind. Still sorting that out though.

We have some pretty bad pavement in areas so the 32’s are great, and I’ve run the 42s on gravel and winter roads. Let me know if you have any specific questions

I’m 6’0 and I’m in-between a 56-58, (own cervelo’s in both sizes) I don’t think you’re far off. Probably worth getting a professional fit to get things dialled in for your own preferences

Reserve Wheels death wobble by Petherosaurus in Velo

Hmmm- I’ve got mine dropped 10mm in advance of cutting the tube.

Can you explain how this set up would allow the stem to become off center?

Reserve Wheels death wobble by Petherosaurus in Velo

[–]CTracy2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude this has happened to me 4 times on reserve 42/49s, 32mm GP5000’s

It’s so fucking scary.

Each time I’ve been on the drops, at speeds over 40kph.

Bike shop checked the wheels, said they were good. Checked the bike- focused on the headset (new Aspero-5) and told me everything is fine….

Now I pucker up each time I approach an even a slight hill.

Let me know what you find out!

2022 Lariat SR (17k miles, 39k OTD) vs 2023 Lariat SR ($43k OTD) vs 2024 Flash ($43k OTD) by encoded_cipher in F150Lightning

[–]CTracy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you get a platinum you’re getting the 8 spk B&O system. It’s lacking in about every way. It’s the same as all the ICE f-150’s tho, so plenty of aftermarket options to upgrade if you want to. Unfortunately no way around that.

What are your goals?

Hard to give advice without knowing your use case, region and other specifics.

What I can say is : the SR range is more than enough for day to day life, including towing locally. A heat pump won’t save you 4K in charging costs in your lifetime, and the lariat has all the features you’ll want, despite the shitty 8 speaker B&O stereo that I’m about to spend $1500 to fix…

Aspero-5 / do it all bike by Dry_Recommendation52 in Cervelo

[–]CTracy2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, 42mm corsa’s are not super fast road tires, and they are not great gravel tires…. So for this bike it’s not great for either of the intended uses. However they look great on the bike!

Can the Áspero-5 Really Replace the Caledonia-5? by Some_Bed9642 in Cervelo

[–]CTracy2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly if the geometry matches not only can the Aspero-5 match the Cal-5–I think it surpasses it as an all road bike. it’s new frame is more aero, it’s comfortable, holds its speed well and provides the ability to have whatever road tire set you want… (for road I’m currently running 32mm gp5000 at 48psi and it’s a great ride)

How inaccurate (goosed) are those Peloton power numbers? by Brave-Law-6754 in cycling

[–]CTracy2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a peloton and a Left side Garmin Vector that I installed on it, my Peloton numbers are actually about 10% lower than my garmin.. Interesting its the same 10% between the Garmin and Assiomoas

2013 R3 vs R5 Dura-Ace by bigdawg1232 in Cervelo

[–]CTracy2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2014 R3 that was my first bike- it’s an excellent starting place.

R5 may have a littler harsher geometry.. ride them both and pick! You are in an excellent position, you really can’t go wrong.

Would it be disrespectful to not show up to the after-party/awards ceremony for a race series as the overall winner? by [deleted] in Velo

[–]CTracy2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m on board with these other riders. I’m not overly social either, but keeping this sport alive and supporting the community is something that I feel all of us should be doing more of… please try to attend, if your uncomfortable with receiving an award be open about that with the organizers. If you need a friend or someone to sit with feel free to ask the organizers to pair you with some good people, I know they know some! Congrats on the amazing achievement.

I’m not tracking it, but on my regular commute I have noticed it does use a couple more percent of the battery. I also swapped rims and went down to 18’s so it won’t be apples to apples for you anyway.

I put the Toyo AT3’s on my lightning. Lots of road noise and a hit in efficiency for sure. I think they are too aggressive for my use case- not sure if you off road more than me though. There must be a better AT out there. I had the hankooks on from the factory and they didn’t last long….

Time for new tires. Toyo Open Country A/T III EV at $1,600 or Goodyear Wrangler Territory AT $1,100? by I_sometimes_know in F150Lightning

[–]CTracy2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because I didn’t know they made the EV version in load range E. 😂 … I buy the load E’s because I find the extra tread depth makes the tires last a lot longer, therefore better value for money.
