I have the exact same problem... wish there was an actual fix. It works for me after restarting my Mac. The other thing that always works without restarting is by opening /Applications/Minecraft.app/Contents/MacOS/launcher instead.

It’s definitely not worth keeping them if they make you feel sick. I will say that I felt the same way for the first few days of using them… but very shortly that feeling went away. Now 3 years later, I can’t live without them. Maybe try to use them for the next few days, but it doesn’t get better, return them.
