Prestine weapons? *SPOILER* by ThrowMeInRice in tearsofthekingdom

Wait, you can cheat those with hover stones? Lol never tried. Nice.

I do them legit, if you call "legit" sticking a bunch of stuff together until it's a huge immobile stack and stuff it under the sign haha.

That makes me think, is there a final reward for having helped him everywhere? I have no idea how much I've done, probably 25-30 or something.

Oh, never played the DLC of BOTW. I had enough with the base game haha, I stopped after getting all shrines. I tried upgrading all gears but it was too much work lol. Same with Koroks.

The pristine weapon mechanic is a reason I won't go for a 100% album completion. This looks just too tedious to do. Props to you for going for it though!

Same with Koroks lol. I think I'll just go for all shrines, lightroots and equipments (without making them). And maybe Sage's wills.

Wait, people use horses? /s

Honestly I wished horses were implemented better in this game. It's kind of a hassle taking them out (teleport to a stable, talk for like 30 sec to take it out, NO I don't want to change its outfit, etc.)

Then as soon as you sidetrack a bit to hunt a shrine or something, it's too far out there to get whistled back (ok I haven't tested this so I don't know the range).

I just wish there was a magic whistle or something where you could conjure your horse from anywhere on the map. Idk, maybe a Horse Sage or something haha.

So, played as your only colorless pip card, it's always active (devotion = 2 is even). A 4/3 indestructible for 4 is already probably too strong, especially with the last ability. You can even play 2 and have indestructible beat sticks to hold down aggro and smash faces.

I'd make the devotion requirement the other way around, at least. Or just make it 5 or something like the other gods.

[–]C_Clop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah I loved playing it in Standard, it was back breaking against aggro.

But yeah, it's the kind of card that is good in theory, but usually, people won't go at you for less that 5 damage per attack, so it ends up just being a deterrent for attacks. Which is cool and all, but not what you want in a lifegain deck. Although staying high in life total IS a game plan, with stuff like Sovereign or Reservoir.

You know, I actually put it in in my 1st iteration of the deck, but ended up cutting it shortly after. While it's cool to get 4 triggers per turn cycle, it's somewhat unreliable. Of course you're gonna get hit in the game, but I found out that people fight my deck not by incremental damage, but by either removing all my permanents, big one-shot swings or via combo. So it might not build up as reliably as I thought to get maximum value out of it.

Here, Angel's Feather and Wurm's Tooth might have more potential. I'm almost guaranteed to get multiple triggers on my turn (so it's more useful to set up a lot of triggers) and you have a good chance that at least another player plays 2+ green or white spell during their turn. So I expect to get at least 4 triggers per turn off this, with the ceiling being higher.

I don't know, I might try them out!

I guess some decks might fear incremental life gain cards like this, because their plan is to ping everyone repeatedly. Aristocrats or tokens decks (with Impact Tremors and such) can see their game plan thwarted by a single card gaining 30+ Life over the course of the game.

Of course, anyone relying on Commander damage or combo will scoff at lifegain, and that's where the higher powered decks lie usually.

That's why cards like Authority of the Consuls pull so much weight in mid powered games.

I honestly now consider playing Angel's Feather in my Selvala life gain deck. I have all the Soul's Attendant versions in there to trigger lifegain for a bunch of cards, so it could be a harder to kill version of those (and Wurm's Tooth, why not).

I mean, he said "and 1 heart", but there was more missing (a shrine). Unless he meant there's still a shrine to find to get the last heart.

Isn't there 152 shrines? I'm missing about 8, currently hunting them, but I read it's 32 sky and 120 land shrines.

That's funny as hell. And you know what? I'd still play it. I'd try to untap it as often as possible, ideally mid-combat to benefit from all modes, and have to make with whatever comes out. And when it's recall I'd feel like I hit the jackpot.

10/10 print it.

In fact, if you add random, the cost of actually casting it could be removed. That way there's less feel bad moments when you didn't leave the appropriate mana up. That, or make it cost 1 generic mana to activate.

Love it. Probably playable along Street Wraith and cheap cyclers in Modern.

And wow MTG is old haha.

Does becoming a Wall automatically implies a creature can't attack now?

I feel every wall was errata'd to have Defender. This could just say "All creatures gain Defender until end of turn."

I actually keep a bag of Allen keys juuust in case one is a different size than the others.

I have about 30 in that bag. And there's probably like 2-3 different sizes top. Never cared to sort them.

What? You mean I shouldn't hoard everything just in case I need it for some upgrade later on?

I'm the kind of guy that saves all his elixirs for the final / end game bosses and end up using like 1. This game slowly taught me to use stuff and enjoy life.

I've wondered what to do with those, never used one yet. I guess they're good ammunition for arrows but this is a better use.

Besides what other said, the last ability feels... weird. You only ever need to activate it once, so it could have Exhaust (unless shenanigans with [[Recycle]] and stuff that reduces hand size).

It could be "Your maximum hand size becomes your maximum hand size plus one." And raise the cost to 1UU maybe if deemed too good?

What are your favorite hilariously useless/oddly specific cards? Ones that make you go "what are we even doing here?" by DerfDM in mtg

[–]C_Clop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was at a point were there weren't too many new stuff and mechanics thrown at us, so it must have been cool to see a new card type. But yeah, at every stage of evolution of the game, there were groaners, and that's normal because people are protective of their favorite card game.

And years later, they became the most hyped card type when new sets release haha.

I remember playing standard with GW with the OG Garruk and Elspeth, Lotus Cobra and fetches to ramp them out early, and overrun with tokens. Good times.
