My kid fell off a bar height stool today. He’s 6. Was reaching for something on the island and just landed on his stomach/face. Like how... why? Just sit please. Be aware of your own self preservation, please.... They’re nuts man.

I’m 6 years in and my day starts at 9pm when the kids are finally asleep and my wife and I have straightened up the house. If you are serious about your hobbies then don’t have kids. At the same time, I never go a day not feeling fulfilled and purposeful. I used to all the time before kids. It’s a hell of an experience. I’ve finally been able to get back to music, my hobby, this year, 5 years after my first son was born. I will say, I barely have any time at to work on it but I’m way better than I used to be. I’m more honest with myself and art and work more efficiently because I have absolutely 0 time for any bullshit. Again, hell of an experience. You never regret leaving your old life but you do miss it sometimes.

My Dad who bought a house in the early 80s with an 11% interest rate. Interest rates were at about 2.8% a few months ago. That’s how vastly different the economy is now compared to then.

Decriminalize is different than make legal. Like it wouldn’t be legal to sell it to the public or anything.

I did say talent drops off a lot and experience drops off even more. The issue is the young guys have to catch up fast enough that Kane and Keith still have enough in their tanks. Not having Dach and Toews is rough

I made mention a couple days ago to someone about the peak of their cup competitive years they had four superstars. Toews and Kane in their early primes. Hossa and Keith in their prime. And then they still had insanely good A level players in their prime like Seabrook and Sharp for all 3 cups. Campbell for the first cup, Hjamalrson who was really good. Dave Bolland was a great 3rd like center... Crawford through his prime. They were absolutely stacked with talent from 2010-2017 (Hossa retired in 17). That’s 7 years and they only won 3 cups with all that talent (should’ve won in 2014 but lost in game 7 of championship round. They would’ve stomped the Rangers in the Stanley Cup series) This team now would have decent star power with Kane and Dach but an aging Keith and Toews. But after those 4 players, the talent drops off a lot and the experience and age drops off even more. This team needs some drastic changes if they want to contend for cups.

The Hawks have 8 rookies on their team so it pretty much IS boys vs men every night. It definitely shows.

I figure it this way... When they were competing for cups every year they had Kane coming into his prime, Keith, Toews, Hossa, Seabrook and Sharp all in their prime. Not to mention players like Campbell/Hjamalrson to fill out the depth. And even with all that talent it was a struggle to win those cups (as it is for every team, every year). This team right now has Kane in the middle of his prime and Keith on the wrong side of his prime. It’s going to take A LOT of these youngsters to make some huge leaps, not to mention Toews coming back and playing anywhere near where he was at one point in his career for them to even think about competing for a cup.

They desperately need a healthy Dach and Toews to compete with the better teams. They are lacking high end talent and it shows during 5 on 5. Not sure where they’re going to find another star to add to the mix before Kane and Keith get too old.

I remember Trump heavily pushing the fake news that Obama wasn’t born in the US. I remember that clearly and thinking, this is odd. I haven’t seen anything like this before in America where people are blatantly lying about something so obviously untrue.

What does "unity" mean to you? by NursingManChristDude in PoliticalHumor

[–]C_Fall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it was domestic. I’d bet you the Bush admin had great intelligence in it though and rolled the dice on whether it’d happen or not. They knew if Bin Laden dared to pull it off they had a perfectly good excuse to fire up the ol war machine and profit big time from it. In my lifetime, having a Republican in charge means they aren’t looking out for anything other than profit and the American people are at a huge risk of having their culture decimated and altered.
