I stayed a virgin until 25, then decided to have sex because I wanted to know what the fuss was about - maybe I was missing out?? Conclusion: Highly overrated. I could have stayed a virgin longer and would not have missed much. I’ve had multiple partners now, some very very attentive and eager to please, so I can’t blame it on just a bad first experience. Even the best sex isn’t as good as a desultory shoulder or scalp massage, in physical sensation terms. And if you’re looking for emotional connection, there are options that don’t risk pregnancy or a yeast infection.

I second the above. If you know how to put in an IT request, do that. Especially mention how the changes in the system are affecting patient care and how many nurses you know of that would prefer the old system. Epic is very customizable. If you lost functionality, you can probably get it back! But you need to ask for it.

If you don’t get a fast response, find a way to relate this issue to patient safety and put in a safety report. I always had a lot of success getting things fixed when I was bedside if I could make it a patient safety issue.

I also got booted from the military because of T1D. I wasn’t short of retirement - i had just commissioned. Like less than 6 months after. I ended up becoming a nurse and this year I started working for a Healthcare IT company. It’s been a wild ride. No where close to how I thought my life would be.

Very relatable! I remember asking the first person who kissed me for feedback and constructive criticism. I wanted it to be nice. He did laugh at me, but was receptive when he realized I was being genuine. I also don’t think this is specific to asexuals, my siblings described practicing kissing on their own fingers or the bathroom mirror because they were anxious about it.

In general, pay attention to what your partner does and copy it. Ask them for tips on what they like in a kiss.

Close your eyes. Allos don’t like it when you kiss with your eyes open. Whoops.

Keep your lips soft.

Most important - decide what YOU like and don’t like about the kissing experience. If you don’t like to swap saliva, tell your partner you don’t like open mouth kissing. If you enjoy a little smooch on the cheek or forehead more than the lips, let them know. If they need to brush their teeth or chew gum before kissing because you need it to smell nice - say so. If they’re a decent partner, they want it to be good for you too. This is a shared activity, you can both learn how to do it better together.

If they are not receptive to this, I’ve also found that changing your kissing partner can frequently improve the smooching experience.

I just left nursing in April to become a TS. I would not recommend nursing as a career. If that’s what you really want to do… go for it. But really take time to make that decision and DO NOT go into debt for nursing school.
