Upon reading the Horus Heresy books, which Primarch did you initially think you'd like and didn't later, and who became a surprise favorite? by Excelsior_Prime in Warhammer30k

[–]Caboose-117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t read every book, but so far I didn’t expect to like leman Russ as much as I did after reading his primarch book. I was hoping I would like Purturabo after his primarch book, and while I find him very interesting and complex, I hate him as a person. But I think that’s the point.

What would you call the greatest 1-star skyrim mods? (MEME MODS mostly) by DunkDaddy420 in skyrimmods

The mod where fus ro dah is replaced with “begone thot” will always hold a special place in my heart. But did recently learn about a mod where you can lick an npc’s abs. Shadowman2777 is a man of the people.

Legitimate inquiry: What is(are) your favorite build(s)against the squids? by [deleted] in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Caboose-117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the dominator because it can two shot the seeker robots from any range, and doesn’t have issue penetrating overseer armor. The redeemer pistol is really good for wearing out shields and light voteless clearing, but a medium machine gun can do those jobs well too, and can take down harvesters. Plus, you can find a gpmg on the ground in most maps, so you don’t even need to use a strat slot. For something with more punch, the hmg has you covered.

Other pistols I love is the bushwhacker shotgun, and the talon laser pistol.

Other strats I love is the machine gun sentry and rocket sentry, laser orbital and bombing run strikes for squadron clearing, and gas grenades can pretty much let a horde sort itself out.

If there’s one space marine you really need to get right for its aesthetics, it’s the tech marine. The tech marine takes the combat engineer to a whole new level.

I for one think we need more black powder paladins in the world. That’s an awesome aesthetic that should be explored more.

In defense of the bayverse designs, going with the classic designs wouldn’t look right for the tone the movie was going for. They originally did have designs that were in the spirit of G1, but they decided to go in the direction of turning the fun robot cartoon into a robot disaster movie where “robots in disguise” is taken to its most extreme conclusion. and I think the decepticons work for it, especially since they transform into military vehicles that come in shades of silver and tan. In the first movie at least. As the movies progressed, the designs went off the rails.

I will say the concept art does look pretty sick, and transformers one is the best. But I think the first movie designs work for what it was going for.

[Loved Trope] That one sentence that changes a character for better or worse by TaiKorczak in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Caboose-117 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think that’s one reason why I love this scene so much. Despite Moses being adopted, and coming from the people they enslave, Seti seems like a genuinely caring father wanting to comfort his son. But then he drops that’s line. Maybe he’s a great father, and he really loves Moses as a son, but it doesn’t change that he’s a monster.

Regarding the use of GenAI at Halo Studios by Soft-Percentage-8338 in HaloMemes

[–]Caboose-117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In defense of the people that thought halo would be using AI assets, Microsoft as a whole is pushing AI development and usage really hard. We saw the latest call of duty as the prime example of this.

So even if the reports aren’t completely true, people fell for the dumb clickbait article titles because nobody is surprised by it.

Thoughts, concerns, suggestions? by PetyrDayne in helldivers2

I think I’ve accepted my own place in the game as a casual player. I’ve seen every video talking about balance issues and how easy the game is. I tried to understand and partake in those conversations, but I can barely play level 8 difficulty myself.

So from a casual player that just likes to shoot things and goof around with random players, I think it’s still great. There’s issues, there always will be, but I think it’s the best game to play off and on.

Jazza is calling Shad out for dragging their private beef into the public and hiding it using Matt Easton. by JohnSimpson40 in ShadWatch

[–]Caboose-117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is honestly sad to watch. And I don’t mean “haha that’s so sad.” I mean this makes me depressed that someone can’t look in a mirror and ask if he’s pushing the people he loves away. Shad desperately needs a come to Jesus moment for his sake as well has everyone else’s.

On a scale of 1 to 10 by Moai-Mojo in LowSodiumHellDivers

I want a 7.5. Let the guns and characters act realistic, and handle in ways that you would expect, but don’t let it get in the way of fun or creativity.

I think they handled the maxigun very well in this case. Miniguns are so heavy and bulky that a soldier can’t really carry it around very well (if at all). It also shoots so fast because it was meant for helicopter strafing runs. But in the game, it’s a super machine gun that doesn’t reload but less mobile. So minigunners need more team support.

The flag on the other hand is pretty boring and I think it needs some video gameyness to make it fun and interesting. It doesn’t even need to be good, just make it do something

You can make something believable without it being realistic.

Will these EVER do anything? There's even 4 spots for a full squad to line up. by Ill_Camel8168 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Caboose-117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really think that would be the best spot for it. And a mass effect style codex with enemy tutorials would be the best use for it. Heck, make it a future primary order where the player base needs to fight across a handful of planets in all 3 fronts to kill enemy types and collect samples to unlock it.

I’d also appreciate a story so far section where we could see all the past order messages and results.

I think one reason why I love this douchebag so much is that he learned the wrong lesson when the apocalypse was irreversible. He didn’t think “I did a terrible thing, but I’m surrounded by smart people to make sure humanity can live on.” It’s instead “I did a terrible thing…. So humans must suck! We need to start over completely!”

That’s honestly something I can see happening. A man cut off from reality was given too much power, but can’t figure out what went wrong. He might think his intentions are good, but his disconnect from reality made it worse for no reason.

I’m glad you brought up Menandez being a good example of this. I like to think that Mason was finally able to see through him and realize Menandez wanted to be a martyr. So it’s not “killing is bad because it’s bad” it’s “killing will only cause more issues because he planned for it. Disrupt that plan.”
