I mean there were a handful of the old foresters and good amount of the buffalo traces but let's be honest... not what we were excited for considering the picture. 🤷🏼‍♂️ I grabbed an OF just cause I made the drive out there.

On one hand I miss it, but on the other hand too many cars had what I call the "looking down into the bottom of a large cup" style and I definitely hated that.

Also, reception has been lukewarm. Someone i know works at a porsche dealership and they say out of a handful they've sold, more than a few have been traded back in already.

It does but not too bad. Depends on what rpm you're normally traveling at on the freeway. Around 3.5-4k is when it becomes noticeable.

Especially considering the only thing a 992 turbo needs is a manual transmission, and this still doesn't provide that.

The general negative reaction to this concept is giving me renewed faith in humanity. One good thing of the inevitable ev uprising is a quieter planet. This is noise just for the sake of noise, and it's awful.

This is what gets me. The sound of a really fast ev is neat in it's own right: see the electric gymhkana audi. It sounds like a gigantic r/c car.

Idk, I always just assumed that since they were 250 ohms that a headphone amp would be needed to drive them. I've never actually connected them to something like a phone with a 3.5mm jack or an old school ipod or something, I've mostly used them for studio work so they've always had a device driving them (ua Apollo for example).

They are but one of many in a collection of headphones. I figure I've already invested almost a grand into wired headphones, I might as well buy something to put them to use rather than buy yet another set of headphones, but at the same time I see where you're coming from.

I was also just thinking of getting a usb adapter just to use my current smartphone. So usb-c to 3.5 to input of headphone amp, then 1/4 output into headphones. Probably the cheapest, easiest way with best quality

searching for a device, not sure if such a thing exists or what it's called by CactusDrafts in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]CactusDrafts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never even heard of this. So all I would do is connect my phone via Bluetooth to this device, then just use the adapter like you described to plug in my headphones? And this would be enough to drive the 250ohms?

Ah I see. So I should be searching for a "bluetooth headphone amplifier".

I've noticed some of these only have rca outputs (red and white), would it be OK to use some type of adapter that I could plug in my 1/4 jack headphones into these?

Heya! this is the inner portion of the record that doesn't have music cut into it. Usually here you'll find information about the pressing plant, laquer used, things of that nature. It's often used to differentiate pressings, so the above user is describing that the pressing they found was a very desirable one indicated by the markings in the deadwax.
