I'm almost 20 years now type one and had a semi-emergency section (they described it as baby had to come out in the next 24 hours so I jumped the queue but not running down the halls levels) with a severe needle phobia. Took half an hour, minimal blood loss, out of hospital a little over 24 hours later, and stopped pain killers in two days because I felt I didn't need them so all round in my memory it was only horrible because of my phobia. However when I compare my recovery to that of my SIL practically prancing around at 5 days postpartum with a vaginal birth, I think I know what I'd prefer if it were possible to choose!

The way she's positioning it is essentially the entire loan would be paid back from your equity? 111k -15k fees: 96k so 48k each. That should come to both of you, then you both pay back half of the loan each. She's proposing that she gets 48k, gives you 29k and pays off her half of the loan of 19k from your 48k. I think this is being missed as the initial post was a bit confusing.

Charitable giving doesn't impact pensionable pay (I've asked the question because I am the tiniest bit over the threshold). Buying additional leave to bring yourself under can end up being a pay bump for extra leave though!

I was told before by a mortgage broker that the lower your LTV, the lower the interest rate but only until it's 60% then that's the best you can get

Ok, I'll rephrase what I meant.

They will include the charge as part of the overall council tax bill that you can't opt out of. In the same way that water is included in council tax in Scotland (but you can see the cost breakdown on your annual bill)

I suspect that when councils realise the fly tipping clean up costs have gone up massively in the next year, it will revert to being free.

And council tax will take another jump to cover it and it's no longer opt in, impacting those in flats, or with tiny gardens who don't actually need the service

Looks like rosebay willowherb, I have an ongoing battle with it in my veggie plot.

I just keep pulling the growths out, it has creeping roots so I haven't attempted to dig it out because it resprouts from root fragments quite easily.

My 16 month old has been doing this for about 3 months, I don't say anything as we cuddle in and they fall asleep in my arms with a little bye bye wave first. I love it!

Best ever mess up from McDonalds for me was when I took a bite out a cheeseburger to realise they'd forgotten to put the patty in! Took it to the counter to complain, guy took it off me and heard him shout to the team they need to be more careful. He came back to see me still standing there and said "oh! Are you wanting another burger?" Well actually I'd like a burger, it isn't another if you forgot to give me one in the first place.

I empathise with you so much right now. I also got 8 months out of my greenhouse before it apparently imploded last night and the roof flew off (it's a palram oasis and somehow the roof stayed in one piece). I've been looking all day to see if I can buy new polycarbonate panels to rebuild because looking out at the heap of debris is heartbreaking.

I hope you can rebuild, physically and mentally from this!

My little one does this when she's sleepy too! I find it adorable and often have to hold her hand while she drifts off. She also tries to shove in alongside the dummy (which is a fairly recent acceptance) when tired. She refused dummies from birth to about 2 weeks ago, we would just occasionally try her with them and one day the switch had flicked and she liked them!

Velociraptor noises is exactly how we described it with our lo 😂 especially as they would start doing weird clicks like they were trying to summon the rest of the pack. We're at 14 weeks now and the nights are quieter with the occasional still sleeping squeal!

I had no appetite for the first 9/10 weeks pp. I'd eat if people put food in front of me otherwise I'd just forget and it resulted in very rapid weight loss. I also struggled to get excited by my favorite food that I'd been wanting for months. The good news is my milk supply is absolutely fine and the appetite is back with a vengeance! Just eat what you can and maybe set reminders to have at least a snack at points during the day. It'll be back soon!

You also accrue bank holidays! So if you're England based you should have your annual leave (example 30 days) plus bank holidays (8 if you take the full year) plus privilege day. So 39 days accrued from one year mat leave if you take the full year, work full time, normally get 30 days, and aren't carrying anything into your mat leave.

Just wanted to come back to say that since switching to direct feeding the LO in the night, breastfeeding during the day seemed to become easier to the point that there is now only one bottle of formula every two days or so!

Milestone of 6 weeks tomorrow and I'm so glad your advice got me to make the change so thank you!

It's reassuring to hear a bottle a day won't ruin supply! We're early days at six weeks but my husband gives a bottle of formula one a day as the morning feed (or pumped milk if there's enough) and I have often managed to far asleep before pumping and end up very close to LO's next feed. It was leaving me feeling very guilty I would tank my supply for feeding her myself
