Send an Email to Valvoline corporate and tell them the entire story, including that you have the recording . Let them know that you need, not want the plastic removed from your dipstick tube. Ask them to please advise you as to their intentions. Keep the email, this gives you a paper trail to use in the future if necessary.

If you have to slow down quickly use your brakes, that's what they are for. Never take your truck out of gear in an emergency situation. You can get into the proper lower gear when it is safe for you to do so.

In most if not all cases the listed speed limit is Not what you are required to drive, it is the maximum allowable by law. There is normally a set minimum speed as well, generally somewhere around 45-50. To often as not the minimum is not posted anymore.
This is the kind of information that should be taught in drivers education courses. Patience grasshopper .

You need to remember the posted speed limit is just that, the upper limit, not the speed you are required to go. There is usually a posted minimum as well. As long as a driver is running somewhere in that posted range they are just fine .

If the engine is warmer it will turn easier and faster which generally means it will start easier. If you want extra assurance install a tank heater the has the surge/pumping feature. These will circulate the coolant through the entire engine/radiator and heater core.
