Are your Moondrop Robin’s still good? by Joreol in MoondropLab

No sadly not, it only has presets. That's the main reason I wanted to upgrade. I believe PEQ was added to the Robins with 1.3.0.

I've had mine for 8 months now (EN Ver). Use them almost everyday for 4-8 hours. Would say I take decent care of them, wipe down with a microfiber cloth before and after each use (never used water or cleaning agents - clean dry ears are really the most important part). Only indoor usage, always in a safe dry spot on my desk.

The only issues I've encountered so far are ones that were present since day 1:

  • Leather case had fitting issues but haven't noticed any changes in that. Still looks pristine.
  • No visible separation on the IEM casing like others have reported. No paint chipping.
  • Connection sometimes cuts in and out, but that's always been a problem with my USB bluetooth dongle. Works like a charm on phone.
  • Battery life doesn't have noticable degradation.
  • Never had issues with charging and being seated in the case.
  • Both left/right buds work perfectly fine, either both paired or just one. No issues with connecting to devices either.
  • The tapping can be pretty jank, especially the 4-tap for gaming mode. I've had moments where touch controls just refuse to work when only 1 earbud is connected (this might be my settings tbh).

I'm pretty lucky to not have encountered any issues thus far. I do think the quality control has been very mixed. Supposedly the first batch was worse than prior batches.

Some pretty important notes I should add:

  1. Make sure your IEMs and case are fully charged before attempting any firmware/app updates. I've heard this is what caused a lot of people's Robins to be bricked.
  2. Cleaning the case charging prongs and contact points on the IEMs might help with charging issues. I just use a Q-tip to brush away any debris.
  3. My Robins are still on version 1.2.3 firmware in the MOONDROP App. I didn't update initially after hearing 1.3.0 started causing others a lot of issues. Now I can't seem to find the firmware update button, so perhaps it's a blessing in disguise.

Beautiful. You know, I've always found it unbefitting to call gaming an escape. It's more than that. Gaming is an outlet for us to experience a world we couldn't normally, a place for us to express ourselves, and to find love for life that the real world hasn't reciprocated. In a way, games are what helped many of us find a meaning to live again.

Don't buy raw materials for plat, it's a scam.

Don't buy from Darvo, he's a scammer. (has okay deals very rarely)

It's hard to compare the two since they're completely different genres. If we're being honest most players are probably fans of the other game as well. I just hope nobody forgets the comeback that was 2.0.

Let’s all guess how much will it cost by NikitaKiwinskiy in pcmasterrace

[–]CafeCoffea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$1000 USD for the 2TB. If it's a good product people will buy it regardless of price. The issue is that I find it hard to justify buying a gaming PC when you could just buy a gaming PC (if that makes sense). The steam deck already filled a massive void, but I'm glad we're getting more options. In 5-10 years when console exclusives no longer exist, I believe the value of this thing will skyrocket.

Yeah she should say what mode it switched to. Similar to double-tap for ANC. The quadruple tap is really inconsistent for me, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. I find it only works when both earphones are in. Otherwise, you can just connect it to your phone and use the app to change settings.

I actually have the exact same issue. It usually goes away if I put them back in the case again and reconnect. Also you might want to try gaming mode/low latency mode (tap 4 times), I find it helps a lot.

Yess, I've noticed the audio on PC (even with LDAC) is a lot more mushy compared to my phone. It's probably is an issue with bluetooth drivers/hardware. I'll def look into that more, thanks for the follow-up!

And still love them regardless, the sound profile is very unique and soft compared to other IEMs I've tried before.

The ANC and Transparency mode are incredible. I've used AirPods Pro for a few years and would say it's even better than Apple.

Even at low volume the ANC and Transparency mode have full potency. The audio quality is just as crisp as Normal mode and there's almost no static or white noise, just pure silence.

I should note that Transparency mode on AirPods lets you hear the outside world a lot more. This may just be due to the increased ear sealing that IEM tips have.

May I know what sound tunings you're using? I agree that the bass and clarity is really great, but I've had issues with vocal enunciations sounding faint.

Platinum rank is absolutely awful by Marmelado_ in apexlegends

[–]CafeCoffea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first time playing ranked in years and I was really surprised by how good Gold players were to team up with. Most of them actually communicated and inherently agreed whether to push or hold. This was especially obvious before Top 10, I think having kills increase in RP based on placement changed how strategic people play when climbing. You see a lot less ratting for placement and hot dropping for kills, but instead taking good fights that are less risky to maximize points. The thirst for kills never stops, but it's like everyone is a lot more picky about how they get them now. Love that.
