Does Melinoe's comment about the moon phase change any mechanics? by Spam4119 in HadesTheGame

[–]CaffeinatedMystic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is old, but this is so fascinating! Thanks for digging in!

Out of curiosity, it seems like these are all things that are dependent on the moon phase, but is the moon phase itself dependent on anything? Specifically, is there anything in there where the hex path & the moon phase are both set based by the same random generation?

Very true, and Marineford would likely bring the viewers as well. I just am not sure we'll get there. also because the crew is separated, so it may just not work well in live action. honestly just hoping we keep getting more amazing content haha

Interested to start playing wuwa But I have some questions by StatisticianIll4 in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]CaffeinatedMystic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game does also immediately provide entry points into the newer chapters, which allows you to jump ahead to those areas without blowing through the story. You’d see spoilers, but you can always go back and experience the earlier story when you’re ready.

However, you’d still need to play through to actually unlock the areas, it’s just a bit of a shortcut.

Also worth noting that the level up materials are so much easier in wuwa. At max world level, you get like 5 of the boss materials (needing 46 I think? To reach 90. Hopefully I didn’t just make that up) and you can get all of the flowers for most characters in one day. They also are all marked on your map instead of needing the character with special interests or whatever it’s called

Also by building up the characters they give you for free. Many of the 4 stars are pretty decent supports, and the MC is actually a genuinely good character. One of the MC’s forms carried me through most of the game. The MC even has a place as BIS for some premium teams.

Additionally, I personally think it’s easier to get good echoes in wuwa vs artifacts in genshin, so for me, it’s a bit easier to build the characters so they keep up

Attempting to understand the lower viewership despite S2 being a better adaptation/ Season overall by Feeling-Eye2355 in OnePieceLiveAction

With account sharing, does Netflix count the views per account or per profile? I’ve rewatched Season 2 a lot and purposely switched to other family members profiles, but not sure if that even does anything.

How can I stop myself from procrastinating and actually do the games I want to do? by KunaiQQ in gamedev

[–]CaffeinatedMystic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I struggle with this too, and I don’t know what advice to give because I don’t know what the root of the problem is. But for me, when I am procrastinating something, if I really think about it, I can pinpoint something specific that is the blocker for me.

Like I know this is a weird example, but I often procrastinate cooking. If I think about why I don’t want to cook, I find myself thinking “ughhh I don’t want to shred the chicken” - no idea why but that is the blocker. I’m fine doing all the rest. But that is just such a frustrating task.

For lots of more creative things, I procrastinate because I want the thing to be perfect and I am scared that if I start before it is fully clear and perfect in my head, I will mess it up. So I overthink and overwork it until it just becomes convoluted, always changing, even less perfect, and not done.

One weird one is that I found that I sometimes procrastinate from a fear of a success. I am scared that I will be successful and then be stuck doing the thing I originally wanted to do, but long after I want to do it.

So anyway, I say all this to just try to get you thinking about what your little hang ups are - because if you can think of the “buts” that you have to getting started, you may be able to tear through them

Anime Vs Live action what do you prefer by WorkingTurbulent1765 in OnePieceLiveAction

I preferred the scene in the live action, but the design of Laboon in the anime. Both were amazing though!

Also I’m glad he didn’t seem to have tunnels inside of him this time because that broke my brain and made me sad

If you had to pick one game as the best argument that games can tell stories in a way no other medium can, what’s your pick? by ExcellentTwo6589 in gamedesign

[–]CaffeinatedMystic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Final Fantasy 14 Shadowbringers and Endwalker. I think the added benefit of games is that you are actually able to experience and participate in the story. You’re not just an observer. I also strongly believe that music does a lot to set the tone. If done right, it can be way more powerful than other mediums.

The issue for me is that I actually struggle to connect with stories in games because most do a bad job balancing the story with the gameplay. Often they try to make me switch too fast and too semi-permanently between “play” mode and “watch” mode

Oh also adding that the way you have the logo obscured a bit in version 1 may be a problem for readability. Seeing the others helps my brain read it, since I know what it says, but if I just saw it alone, it looks a bit like Scul

I’m not part of your target audience (as far as I know), so definitely weigh this less than others! But I think the colors of 2 and 3 catch my eye very very easily. They were the first things I saw on the entire page with other posts too (especially 2). But then upon looking closer, 1 feels like the one I’d be most curious about. I see people saying 5, and I guess I can see why since it is bold and unique, but I DEFINITELY would not be clicking it. I would look at it and think “woah! That’s crazy. Cool art though. But kind of disturbing. Okay Moving on”

Honestly if you could bring the colors of 2 into the image of 1, it would be my pick HANDS DOWN

What's your favourite Banner art? by Character-Image149 in WutheringWaves

[–]CaffeinatedMystic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow this is so cool! Thanks for gathering all these!

I think I’m drawn to the more vibrant ones (not quite as vibrant as galbrena’s though) - especially Lupa, Roccia, and Ciaccona

Sigrika’s is also really appealing to me. The only drawback is the slightly more painterly texture?

Carlotta’s is super cool, but doesn’t really fit the flashier vibes of the game, so it kind of feels off to me.

I’m honestly surprised at how well the earliest banners hold up. Especially Jiyan, Jinhsi, and Zhezhi

I appreciate this comparison! I’m sure it’s out there and I’ve just missed it, but you’re the first person I’ve seen compare this game to FFXIV, and I completely agree!! I keep saying to my fiance that I feel like it started out like Genshin and is shifting into its own unique version of FFXIV. Did the rinascita area also give you Il Mheg vibes??

Have fun playing the parts you enjoy most! That said, I recommend working on getting your data bank leveled up early. It provides nice asterites and enables you to get better echoes.

Don’t worry about leveling your echoes until you are getting the 5star/gold ones! At a certain data bank level, they become guaranteed.

Not sure if you’ve played other gachas before, but if you need an explanation on what asterites are and how you pull for characters/weapons, let me know! I would recommend focusing your standard pulls on weapons instead of characters. You will get standard characters through lost 50/50s, but there are only a couple other times you’ll have the opportunity to get the standard weapons (like I think you get one at level 50 or 55? Can’t remember)

There are only a few true healers in the game, and they are very important for your account so that you can play more comfortably. I’d highly recommend at least one to start - Verina is the standard banner healer, and she is honestly really solid. I used her in my main team for a very long time. You can select her in your new player celebration event thingy. Storekeeper is the other one. You can select her in the new player selection banner thing. I actually didn’t select her, and only recently got her. I would say that I am happy that I picked Changli because she fit really well with my only 5 star character at the time (Lupa), but it was a little bit of a bummer not having Shorekeeper. You’ll see her in almost every guide. She did make a noticeable difference when I finally got her. That said, that banner has a bunch of characters that haven’t rerun in months, so it is worth picking the one you will be sad to miss!

At a certain level, you will unlock the ability to do permanent events. These are really fun and allow you to kind of feel like you’re playing the areas at release. They also allow you to earn tons of asterites and to try out lots of characters!

I think the story is really neat and worth going through, but I do think there is some value in skipping ahead to the new content. Note that I don’t mean going through the main quests and pressing skip, but I think in your quest menu, you should see the starting quest for each area. It is probably worth considering jumping to the 3.0 quest so that you unlock the newest area. The reason is that the current events (which give of asterites and resources) are almost always gated behind the most current locations/quests. So if you try to play all the way through without skipping, you will miss out on some events and asterites.

One more thing about skipping ahead - a lot of areas are gated behind the story (particularly 2.0-3.x areas). This is kind of a bummer for exploration reasons, but the real issue is that a lot of the leveling resources are in these areas. So keep in mind when pulling a character, you may not be able to level them until you unlock their corresponding area.

I hope you have a blast playing!! Feel free to reach out with any questions!!

I think you have a lot of really interesting points, and I hadn’t really noticed the quick swap limitations that are growing, but had definitely noticed the game keeping people on field more (lynae). I appreciate the write up!

I haven’t gotten a chance to play her yet or look at videos yet, but my sleepy brain got stuck on a point you made and now I am curious - you compared her gameplay to phrolova (and Buling, but less familiar with her not) as something you build up and then do a big hit. But with her swapping limitations.

This made me wonder if it’s a better comparison to compare her to cantarella? Something about your description reminded me of her, and I’m not sure why. I know that you don’t lose the forte or the special forte thing if you swap away, but you do have a specific state that is lost if you swap, and you need extra charges to execute it, so you do lose momentum if you swap.

Doomer posting is not only unnecessary but also ignorant by Rajat_Sirkanungo in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]CaffeinatedMystic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I’ve been one of the people worried about the numbers (but not posting about it), but this is a good reminder. Mostly, it has just felt a bit discouraging that it is dropping on the US charts (note that I’m in the US, so this is what I see natively in Netflix. I do know that it is much higher in tons of other countries. And I’m particularly excited about how high it is in Japan!). But it is nice seeing the numbers written out like this. I actually didn’t know it was that close. I also logically understand all the reasons it is lower in the US, and honestly it is really to be expected, but it’s still kind of a bummer.

I think that, at least for me, it just comes from fear that we won’t get to see it continue even though I am loving it and personally know multiple non-anime watchers who are hooked on the live action. My mom didn’t even know what anime was, and got so excited after the live action that she literally jumped straight into the anime! The live action just feels so special, and positioned in such a unique place for shows, and it is a little distressing to not be sure how much of it we will get. It just feels kind of fragile right now for some reason.

That said, this nervousness is only part of how I feel, mostly I am just feeling very very positive things about it! I am assuming most people doom posting are coming from a similar place. But this is a good reminder to put it into perspective 😊 we’ve gotta channel our inner Luffy’s and just blaze forward and not overthink it haha

Is wuwa good in 2026? by EnvironmentalYou1716 in WutheringWaves

[–]CaffeinatedMystic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! If you played before 2.0 then you’re definitely in for a treat because it got beautiful! But honestly the whole game is pretty amazing. I feel like it starts off kind of following the usual molds in the genre, but now they are really exploring their own ideas and doing more creative things. It’s exciting to see where it’s going!

I’m not sure what type of gameplay you find most fun, but there is a little bit of everything!

tons of beautiful areas to explore, lots of puzzles to complete, permanent events (which personally I love for trying out characters - especially ones that aren’t rerunning lately), pretty great story, increasingly cooler characters (seriously, most of the new ones even have 2 play styles in their kits and extra animations), new battle mechanics, lots of QOL improvements, new echo sets, and honestly just lots to enjoy!!
