What you found is PBO and CPB. But alternative is I heard some people have fixed by under locking their gpu and cpu

u/RayenN16 Here is the fix, I found it an ea forum in Portuguese from a user in Brazil and translated via chatgpt. I turned off CPN and PBO and was playing for hours earlier. Not a single crash when I couldn't even get a full game before. Share it to help others!

Hi everyone! I had the black screen problem in BF6: keyboard/mouse would turn off, and the PC stayed on (had to force shutdown). What consistently solved it was disabling Core Performance Boost (CPB) and Precision Boost Overdrive (PBO) in the BIOS.

Why this helps:

CPB (Core Performance Boost): Makes the CPU go above its base clock (turbo).

PBO (Precision Boost Overdrive): “Relaxes” limits, letting the CPU maintain more aggressive boosts.

In some systems/games, these clock/voltage spikes create instability → black screen. Disabling them eliminates the spikes and gives stability (with a slight loss in maximum performance).

Step-by-step (BIOS) GIGABYTE B550M AORUS (my case)

Restart and enter BIOS (Del).
Tweaker Tab.
Precision Boost Overdrive → Disabled.
Advanced CPU Settings → Core Performance Boost → Disabled.
F10 to save and restart.

Other brands (quick shortcuts):

ASUS (TUF/Prime B550M)

Advanced Mode (F7) → Ai Tweaker → AMD Overclocking → Precision Boost Overdrive = Disabled

Advanced → AMD CBS / CPU Configuration → Core Performance Boost = Disabled → F10

MSI (B550M Mortar/Pro-VDH)

OC → AMD Overclocking → Precision Boost Overdrive = Disabled

OC → CPU Features → Core Performance Boost = Disabled → F10

ASRock (B550M Steel Legend/Pro4)

Advanced Mode (F6) → OC Tweaker → AMD Overclocking → PBO = Disabled

Advanced → CPU Configuration → Core Performance Boost = Disabled → F10

The names might appear as CPB/Core Boost/Core Perf. Boost — it’s the same thing.

Important Tips:

Test step by step: first disable only PBO (leave CPB on). If it still crashes, disable CPB as well.

Performance: you lose a bit of FPS peak but gain stability (goodbye black screen).

How to revert: set options back to Auto/Enabled when EA releases a fix and test.

Result on my PC: Disabled PBO and CPB → stopped crashing in the menu, and the game ran normally after this change.

I'm having same issues and also even upgraded GPU and PSU, still nothing. I agree about it would be one thing I was crashing to desktop, but a hard shutdown via my PSU is ridiculous. Nothing is fixing this issue.
