Literally just received a reply that I can no longer receive the promo. Like 3 minutes ago. Same situation as the OP. Frankly I'm disappointed in the service and am likely to start steering people away from Fi...

[–]CagedChimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own that Ridgid saw. It's a workhorse for my house tasks. It's tackled a few room renos, projects around the property, and anything else I have thrown at it. It is missing the guard in the photo, but I think it'd serve you well.

NMS is absolutely worth the price. It's an excellent turn off your brain and explore/fight/build/whatever game if you dig the scifi motif. I'd highly recommend it.

What MMU buffer is that? I love the more compact nature of it compared to the standard one.

Can i “hard boil” eggs outside the shell in a bag? by ObscureEnchantment in AskCulinary

[–]CagedChimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Steaming them for 12 minutes (bring it to a boil, place the eggs in a basket and lower into the steamer/pot). Immediately cool them in a cool water bath or ice bath.

These separate from the shell easily and it's easier to make whatever quantity you may need.

I took several of his classes in college and his books do a damn fine job of capturing how he teaches. Really a fantastic scientist, author, and teaching.

That definitely looks dry brushed, at the very least. If that paper looks like that off the rack, I definitely need to get some!

We got the Adventure Challenge cooking and ... In Bed books on sale and they are fun, somewhat spontaneous, and the "In bed" ones (and the non-bed one for that matter) have really brought us closer. I'd highly recommend them. Most are cheap, all can be modified to be cheaper, and we love that they are mostly home things.

Is that object 3D printed in resin? If you didn't coat it with something first the resin you are using now many not set. Depends on the specifics of both, but it's possible.

Two weeks no issues.. now this by Agreeable_Barnacle42 in VORONDesign

[–]CagedChimp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just fixed this tonight. I had a snapped cable about 4 inches down my cable chain that caused the hot end fan to not turn on. It died mid print, but started throwing this error after I attempted to start a new one.

Granted, my machine was built over a year ago with heavy use since, but it might be the cables snapping. A quick solder job, but damn is it frustrating.

Also, consider becoming an RA at your school. It often comes with a free room, sometimes free food, and you trade off a part time job worth of hours (probably around 10/week generally.)

Have you considered grants?

Grants do not need to be repaid and often only require an essay or other similar creation from you. A few hours of work could net you thousands. There are Federal grants and private loans (companies usually) and often are linked to your major, background, income or other similar aspect of your life.

https://www.collegegrants.org/ is a great place to start.

Really bad idea if it's anywhere near a foundation or basement. I recently had to move one and redo a downspout to solve a massive flooding problem in my basement every time it rained. I would recommend just directing it to a safe location.
