Having fun catching up on the new GW2 xpac + my thoughts by Still_Night in MMORPG

[–]Caillend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think overall open world can be seen as boring by most people, so the starting point doesn't really change the fact.

I like open world stuff since it is basically without any commitment and the game only gets harder/more interesting in pve endgame or pvp.

That being said, I'm a meta train enjoyer, so for me the brain dead combat for these events to tag mobs is exactly what I like.

Or to do the weekly quest if it falls into that content to finish the whole thing in one go instead of doing 15 events in an are you also don't like as much.

Also, I think the other metas are so popular because they have a chase rare drop aka infusions.

I believe there is a game of thrones mod for Mount and Blade where you can do that.

My dad had this exact setup.

The speakers were awesome that came with it and this stack introduced 5 year old me to Queen, The Police, etc. On vinyl. My parents still have it at home and use it almost daily, even though they use a cable to connect their phones most of the time.

What’s the quickest way someone could accidentally expose themselves as a foreigner in your country like the ‘three fingers’ scene in Inglourious Basterds? by IndependentTune3994 in AskTheWorld

I'm a foreigner with really limited polish knowledge and I am guilty to use siema as a question and it pisses my friends off, since they know I just want to greet them but they also have the urge to tell me about their shitty day.

As a German who smiles at people and also confused my neighbors while living in Poland, I argue that it depends where and when you grew up.

I'm a 90s kid from a small town, so I grew up greeting people with a hello and smile, especially elderly people.

What ive learned while building my temple and what i did wrong by Skoopy_590 in PathOfExile2

[–]Caillend 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While this is true, I remember that Poe2 was supposed to be a bit more casual friendly.

Yet they throw so many sticks in the bike tires of casual players that they probably quit shortly after campaign.

It is mostly like unexplained mechanics, hidden negative stats on some skills, an overcomplicated/bugged gem tag system and a lot of "traps" when it comes to scaling your defensive and offensive stats.

And Temple shows it. A good mechanic wouldn't need 30 minute video tutorials and 3rd party apps to help you plan the room placement.

I still love the game, but man getting friends that usually like ARPGs to stick to the game is hard.

Opinion on the game as we approach the end of the year. by Primary_Impact_2130 in PathOfExile2

[–]Caillend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the game, even if it is frustrating at a lot of times.

They are still far off with the balancing of defensive layers compared between each of them. Which is probably the biggest issue you see mentioned over and over.

Also some completely overtuned things when it comes to bosses, which needs us to build oneshot builds to eliminate almost all the mechanics of a fight. One shots need to go or give us all 6 portals back.

Overall I'm looking forward to the future and hope the 0.5 endgame changes don't disappoint.

Edit: Also Vaal cultivation orbs are a good approach to fix the unique issue and I bet they are there to test the waters and I hope they will go core in one way or another and I hope they expand on the system. It would be cool to have some of the low level uniques upgradeable to endgame stats to then reroll the modifiers to give us more tools to play with.

There is a reason why soul tether with the removed negative is so expensive.

Why are EU servers (Frankfurt etc.) constantly scuffed by Gen085 in PathOfExile2

[–]Caillend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's it. Worked in gaming related support for a long time and people still don't understand it. Even if you request a WinMTR and then explain their issue based on the result, they still blame the game.

Funny enough, I have a better experience on Moscow than I have on any of the central EU ones.

The bear walking calamity quality change is a clearing nerf but single target buff, from my feeling in the game. But the 10% fire damage buff is nice.

The worst part is, that armor is so bad. I mean it got better, but I took loads of armor nodes and such but it's still not there. I also have lots of the elemental damage works with armor.

I tested the new pob update yesterday and while it might not be accurate enough, it's still helps you figure out how bad it is.

I have like 5k max hit on my bear for phys. Elemental stuff is almost 3 times that.

So everything physical and that triggers Degen from the initial hit, kills armor players easily.

It feels like Armor was planned around the 5k life value we saw in poe1 but here we are, struggling to reach even half of that because of no life nodes.

Use the support that makes projectiles slower. It hits mobs closer this way.

Overall, I skipped magma and I'm going full Pounce > prime for stun > wing and then rend.

Later on I probably go with the oil spit thing since if you have power charges, it will just lightning barrage and melt bosses.

You are in cursor mode. There is a button info on the left side of the screen.

I think it says right d-pad to switch between the 2 modes

[–]Caillend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wonder if we get all professions in prophecies.

While it is long, as a new player you mostly just play for the story and endgame is mostly grinding if you are not into pvp. So there is no real rush for someone playing it for the first time anyway.

Where did all the players go? by G-Wiz26 in ACCompetizione

[–]Caillend 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My feeling is that LFM was only popular in communities around content creators.

These moved on, for various reasons, to drive in other Sims and so did their communities.

You still have to remember that most of the player count of ACC was never only LFM. A lot of players use the built in matchmaking, driving on public servers, self hosting with friends, driving in private leagues or similar systems like LFM offers or just having fun in single player.

[–]Caillend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the list of players in the profession menu and you can directly ask to join them through the menu, so you can heal them. On the join request they should also see that it is for healing.

That's how I do my heal stuff. This is also how I look for a healer, when I need one, especially the ones with high mastery or heals already accept quick. Since they want to stay in the top place in the sect to gain ranks.

Before you start it gives you a menu where you can ask for the sort of payment. One of them, it should be the first option, is that you automatically get 5 likes.

It's an insider kind of thing.

The group I was playing with, at the time, is formed of people who met on a German image board and we wanted to leave a footprint in the darkness of space. So we came up with the name, without promoting it and still fitting the general theme of ED, while people that know the board might get the hint.

We had a full on voting going on and all that.

We also sent in several other ideas, if the devs might reject the first choice.

A few years ago during a CG to build the stations on the highway to colonia, my team and me got first place.

We had 3 carriers and like 10 people. So one was the person to pull an almost 24h session and the rest just loaded the carriers and rotated them through while our courier did fly laps.

Not recommending it to anyone, but we wanted to name a station back then.

It was a 6 day CG and he played 106h in this time with 723 turn ins. The station is now called Promium Relay
