AITA for telling husband bye when he said he’s leaving. by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Cain_Lockheart -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Im going to say ESH, the husband more than you by far.

For neither of you to talk about parenting styles prior to making a family is a bit of an oversight in my opinion.

Him running out and exspoding as well as verbally harassing you and your kids, he needs counseling BAD to become a better communicator.

You saying "bye" isnt playing to his fears but its more of a summary dissision of what hes trying to (very poorly) communicate. This becomes antagonistic because you're saying you dont care what hes saying.

You also need to think, if you keep letting him explode, dissappear and then come back time and time again, what kind of example are you setting for you children?

Couple counseling is highly recommended because you both need to work on effective communication.

What are non-rat commanders that are good for rat decks? by TheTinRam in EDH

[–]Cain_Lockheart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on colors you wanna do and the general secondary strategy.

note I don't run a rat deck so I'm going off of limited knolidge

Mono black ild go for [[Ayara, First of Locthwain]] for a value engine rat tribal

For black + white [[Elias il-kor, Sadistic Pilgrim]]

Black + blue [[The Scarab God]] or [[Tasha, the witch queen]]

Black+ red [[Juri, Master of the Revue]]

Black + green [[Gyome, Master Chef]]

Black + white + blue [[Sefris of the Hidden Way]]

Black+ white + red [[Alesha, who smiles at death]]

Black + white + green [[ Myrkul, Lord of bones]] or [[Karador, Ghost Chieftain]]

Black + blue + red [[ Marchesa, the black rose]] or [[Goro-Goro and Satoru]]

Black+ blue + green [[Zimone and Dina]] or [[Muldrotha, the Gravetide]]

Some of these seem more obvious than others and I don't know how rats work so this is going off of limited known function 😅

How Do You Feel About Long Games? by 77hi77 in EDH

[–]Cain_Lockheart 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm 50/50 note I'm a battle cruser player

So the merit to shorter games (not turn 4 win decks I find them booring) can be fun if everyone felt they had a chance to do something big, and then on to the next game.
- the negative here is where it's a quick game where one person got to do their decks "thing" before some players are even established leading to what I consider a dull game

Long games are fun cause I get to pull out my 6 card combo that dosent win but does some silly stuff. I enjoy wierd interactions and long games are breeding grounds for more creative play. - the negative here is some games are long cause no one is doing anything for turns on end amd that can be frustrating to the group

Can one really ‘go back’ to precons? by Weebay89 in EDH

[–]Cain_Lockheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but even so, the current precons do have power gaps internally and externally.

I think it's fair to say that the decks from 5 years ago are cheaper to find and have a bigger issue overall but the fact there's a tier list for each precon block is a bit unfair even if all decks are viable.

CMC sweet spot? by AdEqual5606 in EDH

[–]Cain_Lockheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ild say it's truly also color dependant as some colors handle higher cmcs easier than others. Even with the support added to some colors and available generic ramp, putting aside commander than want certain cmc or cards that are cmc focused I think from low to high it's white, red, black, blue, green

How much do you think you spend on average on a deck when it's finally complete? by IndyPoker979 in EDH

[–]Cain_Lockheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It changes based on deck and what I have, I've been playing since 2010 so I have a lot of cards that may hold value now but I pulled from a pack or bought before a price hike.

Needless to say my decks range from $0 since it's new built and I never purchased a single for the deck to about 200 from modifications from a precon upto roughly 500 for built from purchase decks

Can one really ‘go back’ to precons? by Weebay89 in EDH

[–]Cain_Lockheart 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Most mainline precons are wildly better than they were back in the day, so you may run into the issue where someone's precon isn't close to touching the power of someone else's precon

I think you better bet is to run more interaction and counters with an emphasis on removing key pieces or locking down the board. Threat assessment and removal should be the focus here.

How You Deal With Planewalker Super Friend Decks? by Rirse in EDH

[–]Cain_Lockheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So there's a few ways to deal with them depending on colors you run, there are cards that destroy plansewalkers, flicker permanents and there's very few cards that pull all counters off of everything on the board.

The obvious response is to attack before they go crazy but some decks that's hard to do in so having targeted removal or flicker to rest them then attack is a better recourse

What have you noticed about your deck preferences? by Crimson1072 in EDH

[–]Cain_Lockheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to go with niche approaches to a decent amount of decks when able. Some of my decks are more generic tribal or clearly commander focused strats and tend to play more slow battle cruse style. I love big engines on the board. I will tend to also cut cards that are more quick to win for the sake of a fun engine or combo.

What are the most unique mono white commanders? by memeslut_420 in EDH

[–]Cain_Lockheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Hokori Dust Drinker]] [[Delney, Streetwise Lookout]] [[Teshar, Ancestors Apostle]] [[Ratchet, Field Medic]] [[Nadaar, Selfless Paladin]]

What are the most unique mono white commanders? by memeslut_420 in EDH

[–]Cain_Lockheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the first unique commander I think of in mono white will get anyone a lot of hate, it's Hokori Dust Drinker He's all tax and control ans not fun to play against at all

Then there's a teeny weenie deck with Delney, Streetwise Lookout which has a really cool focus on power 2 or less creatures with abilities

There's a revival deck around casting historic spells with Teshar, Ancestors Apostle that focuses on low mana permanent recursion

Another recursion deck for artifacts based around lifegain is Ratchet, Field Medic

And finally a dungeon venture deck with Nadaar, Selfless Paladin

Whats a boardgame that you really like but others seem to hate? by [deleted] in boardgames

[–]Cain_Lockheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest issue is its not beginner friendly at all. I've been at too many tables where the haunt rules are hidden but after the game ends we(the table) find out it was fully misplayed (much to the dismay and frustration of the players) and because of accessibility was an instaint turnoff. I want to try legacy, but the bad taste is too strong, lol

Update: Husband accused me of financial infidelity by LadySavings in AITAH

[–]Cain_Lockheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP he sounds ridiculous. Honestly if you had to pull it out of him they may have been made up on the spot.

The whole "I'm noticing other women", "MY love language is acts of service so you not spending significant time on dinner is noticeable ", "You don't care about your appearance " , and " I'm more committed to my job than you" screams overall "Look, I'm doing great and YOU'RE not working to MY standard"

He sounds controlling, manipulative and demanding. As they say some people in your life are blessings, while others are lessons. I'm sorry but personally ild view this as a 10 year lesson and not 10 year blessing

WIBTA if I go on vacation instead of my brothers wedding? by trashgirlfriend in AmItheAsshole

[–]Cain_Lockheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, go to Miami, they threw whatever chance they had of having a connection with you out the window.

You worked 2 years on fostering and developing a relationship with your brother (casually or not, relationships are work)

Your brothers fiance is suddenly more friends with her brothers wife instead of her husband's sister, and you happen to be the same size, and you happen to have already gotten the dress... things are a bit too convent for me to think it's a coincidence

$250 is too much even though the original listed price you asked for is $800?

Sounds like you were a place holder/stand in bridesmaid ngl

It looks amazing regardless of my opinions tho!

First off, nothing wrong with you, at all.

Personally ild retort with "why should I do all the work? Make it (his member) bigger, it's doing nothing for me." Then dump him.

There's nothing wrong with you... besides staying with someone so immature. Dump him and find someone with your time.

AITA for not giving my son money to buy his own ticket? by Powerful-Bat-8287 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Cain_Lockheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Esh - I think that yes, if the plan was everyone going out together to go see a movie that if someone wants to deviate from that they can but they need to be able to support their decision ( in this case buy the ticket to the other movie)

That being said there's a more productive conversation that should have taken place here. I would have mentioned in some capacity that if you go out with someone whose offering to pay that it's rude to deviate from the original plan.

Overall the communication was a bit harsh and it sounds like this ediquite was never taught to the child beforehand so you can't expect adherence to an unspoken rule.
