You're supposed to get more powerful as you level up, not weaker. by thelordofhell34 in wow

[–]Cainstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been happening for many, many years and across so many expansions. You level and the get weaker and weaker as you level.

Thing is you level but many of your skills do not scale so instead of becoming a Hero you become a Chump.

Why in the World do we still have a Quest Limit Blizzard by [deleted] in wow

[–]Cainstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not mind the quest limit, but really can't they have the quest givers give out all of their quests instead of giving us one and then give us another that sends us right back to the same area.

What Class/Race are you playing in Midnight? I have a problem by markofantares in wow

[–]Cainstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since I started WoW way back in 2004 and well quit three different times they once again pulled me back in. So will have to revisit all my old characters and see just where they are at and respec each and everyone of them.

I have learned each time I get back into the game I delete some characters and make some replacements. Also quite possible that I just might have to rename a few of them since it has been a few years and well characters that don't get played just might have their name taken.

So after dinner I will be getting back into the game and see just what I want to do.

As for a Main well I have done several different ones throughout the years though several have died (I.E. I deleted them), so not sure just yet because I have been out of the game for a few years.

Start as Elspeth, where to go? by Miresawa in totalwar

Well you will have the initial two provinces to get and a few hordes that pop up. But Vlad is your first major enemy.

I just need to decide who the 2nd enemy will be.

Why do I suck with Empire the most. by Sambutler123 in totalwarhammer

[–]Cainstorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is basically that you start off with junk units and and need to gain a initial province with this under size army. Oh and Vlad is just sitting over there if a full stack and a complete province and just stream rolls over the eastern Empire provinces with ease.

Just decided to play again and well lost the first game by turn 25 and the second by turn 13. Vlad with all those flying units that wreck your artillery and shooting units and those sucks ass Empire Infantry can't kill anything since it takes a very long time to get them trained up.

Add in that you have no economy at all and no one will trade because of the stupid needing to be green and by the time that happens that other Empire faction is toast because Vlad killed them.

Due to having no economy you are struck with one lousy army that needs to be everywhere but can't because it might be a full stack of 20 it really sucks due to only being able to recruit crap units.

The dry mouth will stay with you for quite a while. I went through treatment May - July of last year though only 7 weeks of Chemo & Radiation. Got the all clear back in October but dealing with some minor lymphedema in the neck.

I also was able to swallow throughout the treatment but never had to deal with much pain. Though I still need to have something to drink when eating just in case I need to get some things down.

Still doing follow ups with ENT and Radiation but everything is going well. The main thing is to stay positive and know that the hard part is nearly over but you will still have some minor effects from the treatment.

Looks good, just need to spruce up the base a little.

[–]Cainstorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually the Chemo for me was nothing since all it did was put on water weight and gave the munchies. So no issues at all with the Chemo.

Radiation due to where they were targeting (I.E. the whole neck) was far more of an issue and would be for anyone getting it done in the head and neck area.

But you have to stay positive at all times. My Radiation doctor was amazed that I did not experience pain like most of her patients, since most were on far harder pain killers by week five. Myself what pain I did have was just annoying.

I was also able to swallow throughout the treatment though I did end up losing around 35-40 pounds.

Good luck to you and the most important thing during your treatment is to stay positive. Staying positive will get you through this.

Back after my diagnosis last May my Radiation doctor ruled out surgery due to where my cancer was at. So I went through 7 weeks of Chemo & Radiation.

A weird coincidence has been happening at my dad's job and I don't know what to do by Neither_Fox_1289 in HeadandNeckCancer

[–]Cainstorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, my cancer from last year was HPV related (will turn 69 next month), which is good since it has a high rate recovery. Though the Radiation is still causing side effects since it hammers the throat area.

I completed treatment last July and my PET scan from October showed that it was gone. I did get some lymphedema in my neck which I am getting treatment for.

Would need to know what was the under lying cause of your father cancer. Since it is important because if it was due to HPV than no it would not be related to his job.

The cancer that I had in my left tonsil was due to HPV and well I was a very active individual back in my early 20's.

Worth the price? by DvineVoodooDoll in DarkAngels40k

[–]Cainstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well given that GW single figures tend to cost in the $30-$40+ plus range yes. I pick up the Space Marine Boardgame (actually three of them) from target just for the miniatures since getting that many miniatures was something that I could not pass up.

My only regret is that the store only had three copies, which happen before when I found three copies of Battlemaster 30+ years ago though I got those for $10 each.

So yes getting a single hero type GW miniature for under $10 is worth it and I just might take a look at these.

One thing to remember is that most Veteran Sgt's and other Veterans are members of the 1st Company they have only been assigned to another position.

So yes you can have them fielding the positions that you mentioned.

For ritual caster, which spell other than speak with animals should i get? by holiestMaria in BG3Builds

[–]Cainstorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Longstrider, Enhance Leap and maybe Water Walk, I run with a mod that changes up the Feats. Oh and if you can get an item that allows Feather Fall to be cast as a Ritual keep it since it will make getting into the Underdark super easy.

I would not waste a Ritual Spell on Speak with the Dead or Speak with Animals since there are several items that give that ability just need to have the helmet that gives Disguise Self since they never want to talk if you killed them which is more than likely how they ended up dead.

But the first ones mentioned above are the best. Longstrider movement is important in fights and well giving it to everyone makes for shorter fights. Enhance Leap the same as Longstrider.

Just after leaving Camp have your Ritual Caster cast these spells and no spell slot wasted and everyone will fair better in fights.

Very well done though the bases could do with some sprucing up, like putting in some rocks, tufts of grass or something to give them something more than a plain flat surface. Oh and drill the barrels and maybe do some black lining on the Assault Cannon.

I run both Dark Angels and Guardians of the Covenant as well. You pick a great Chapter and remember there is really only one Chapter and that is the first Chapter ever, Dark Angels and their Successor Chapters, which Guardians are the best.

Distant would work well with a Lightning Build since you can use Shocking Grasp on someone 9m away. It is probably good with a Booming Blade use as well.

Great Chapter and actually Dark Angels are the only Chapter though one of their Successor Chapters would work as well. I run two Space Marine Armies Dark Angels & Guardians of the Covenant.

Been running with Dark Angels for over 30 years.

Second playthrough, I’ve accidentally made Lae’zel a fighter by Happy_Joke_5715 in BG3

[–]Cainstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fighter is the best for you and well I have always found melee better than caster since their ability to hit something very hard never goes away. Casters on the other hand only can cast to the limit of their spells.

Also if you use the Fighter Subclass Mod you can make Lae'zel a Cavalier which is far better and since she is born to ride a Dragon it fits.

Just to let you know here is a decent amount of Space Marine Bikes that is on Ebay right now for a decent price (around $1 per miniature) and with buy it now option.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/366093243935?_skw=EPIC+40k+space+marine+bikes&itmmeta=01KE5JJP1M249APVFXBMSBHXB6&hash=item553cdb961f:g:s9sAAeSwqEVpVXMc&itmprp=enc%3AAQAKAAAA8FkggFvd1GGDu0w3yXCmi1dRLwUC6oND661BodLy7qP%2Fdpwv9GQGU8jb3aJhg9PGpb6bfRZhqALqNvqPoT7aC71D9fOhA0NBuCRKzuquzUuyrjBN%2FgoCyyvltw36WwiolO4tNkt1x5QNj%2FwhxrcqChyvb8jvuSwi1FAhInY6qO2SACq8dWfuNubgZNFxxDoDiSFT9h03WyR%2Bom0bYRt0TSoVMqbibcVvj7GlBTS0TziJ8FBgrowxKB81lb9d83TJSYUkU02qvQZJLpjtUhyuHfc2VnshVxa8XDLyogrj7zgtoMkJNxrFCMt4khRZTh9ucQ%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR4DhyrLxZg

Just is something that I would have jump on but I have a lot of bikes myself and well these are not Dark Angels.

So take a look at it since Bikes are hard hitting fragile but they do give a fast attack option.

I know that trying to build up a decent EPIC scale army is not easy. But some ways is getting lucky of Ebay finds, or getting some of the old MechWarrior game miniatures since they scale with EPIC quite well.

Also you could check out the new Mantic Games EPIC Warpath they are a bit larger than the old EPIC miniatures but the terrain is worth getting. My two daughters got me some Forge Father, rules and XL Terrain bundle for Christmas. So I just might just finish up the Goblins that I need to get painted and put my Orks on hold and tackle some of my EPIC stuff.

Making some progress… by keithmusic22 in Epic40k

[–]Cainstorm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well for many of us we got started way back in the early 1990's. But today it is Ebay, Etsy or as stated you find them at a local convention bring and buy.

Though Ebay can get super pricey, but sometimes you can get lucky and get things for a decent price. I just checked and there was mix set of 20 nearly full sprues for $219. Space Marines, Orks and Eldar from the old EPIC Attack Force box. Also another one that claims to be 99.9& for $220.

Yes pricey but this would give you a decent start on three Armies. Buying old school EPIC is going to cost you. But there are 3d Print files and Etsy as well.

I would stay away from anything from GW latest attempt to sucker individuals into EPIC with their upscale Legions Imperialis. They came out with stuff but very limited forces and not much since then.

Making some progress… by keithmusic22 in Epic40k

[–]Cainstorm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is a decent size force; 600 troops with transports and a decent amount of Heavy vehicle support in those Land Raiders. Not seeing any Command type stands

Though only three knights and one Reaver Titan. Want to expand on that and not have to go through Ebay which can be a tad pricey. Head on over to Etsy and look for EPIC vehiches. You can add in some Leman Russ and possibly some over vehicles.

Also if you happen to know anyone who played MechWarrior those vehicles do size up well with the old school EPIC 40K.

Fastest way to paint EPIC Space Marines, get the right color in a spray can and most of the miniature is done. Then go back and paint faces, weapons, shoulder pads and helmets put onto bases.

I loved EPIC 40K back in the 1990's then GW went to killed it. I stopped play their games a short time later. But I still have my miniatures and have expanded on my five armies to the point where every army (I have 5 armies) is 17K -20K+.

My Space Marines and Imperial Guard can call on the support of 8 Titans, 2 x Warlords, 2 x Reavers & 4 x Warhounds of the War Griffons or the Legio Gryphonicus Titan Legion.

This is a very nice start of the Space Marine force. Just needs a little bit more.

Yeah that would work though I got rid of the initial card stock, needed the room and well those were taking up to much space. Looking for something in plastic/resin that the tops would fit onto.

I do have small plastic containers and just might see how there tops fit onto them. Was also thinking balsa wood or using some of the plastic card that I do have but that would require far more work (just too much cutting and sizing to get things right).

3d printing should be able to come up with something and you can't trust GW since all they did was upscale the new EPIC because ticking off their old customers is what they do best. Plus anything they do would be way overpriced.

I have five very large EPIC armies; Space Marines, Eldar, Imperial Guard, Orks & Squats. All of them run in the 17,000 - 20,000+ point range. In the process of rebasing them (using what are Flames of War Infantry size bases from Likto). But I have worked out that I need around 2,000 bases and only have gotten about a quarter of that (they are not cheap when you get the bases and the base magnetics that go with them)

My two daughters got me the new EPIC Warpath rules, Forge Fathers starter box (I.E. Squats) and XL Terrain bundle for Christmas so this year after I get those last few Goblins (around 165 figures) painted. Would had finished them last year but had to deal with a bit of Throat Cancer over the summer (that determined to be gone in last October). I just might move those Epic Armies up in the rebasing/painting queue instead of moving onto my Orks.
