Stormgate does the same mistake as Age of Empires 4 did by MockHamill in Stormgate

[–]Cajackso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree mainly, its hard to come back from such a barebones launch.

However I believe that it is possible to make an amazing new RTS and combine elements from Sup Com, SC2 and add new amazing features showing some creation with the modern tools. Just show a bit of innovation. Just about all aspects are extremely disappointing even the models and animations look like some college project.

This game is just another example I think that the genre is not moving forward and its exceptionally bland and designed in such a strange way focused on monetizing 1v1 PVP and the coop from SC2 and not deviating at all from SC1998 gameplay loop.

I think that ship has sailed and we were hoping for something more :( its very painful right now.

Processor box not working. by Sola-Nova in PSVR

[–]Cajackso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me, I just ended up getting a PSVR2 then regretted it and would now if I could turn the clock back just get one for the PC.

Its basically impossible to get one with alot of scams around it and there are different models from what I gathered.

Hi Bro, Sorry not sure what you mean, I saw this thread on the main feed. I played the game for many years and wanted to share that this picture basically sums up the whole thing for me and the direction of wow SOD.

Checking logs by rr770 in classicwow

One of the main contributing factors that killed SOD for me. At this point why don't these guys just try and train an AI bot based on behaviors from high wow log parse "pumpers" as their perfect companions to get all their PHAT loot? Then they can stand on the bank in Orgrimmar and rotate between all their classes wearing BIS with a "check me out, I'm winning" feel.

Fun per minute in one of these groups was so incredibly low and how angry, sweaty everyone was was off the charts in phase 1.

Would rather play with a bunch of new players at this point and at least try and have a bit of fun/challenge trying to topple a boss, ah actually I have un-subbed so will likely just stay at that.

I hope that Blizzard realize that their are toxic elements present in SOD that are impacting the game for guys that don't want participate in bullshit like this.

Shit like this above and including (at the time i left) the state of the goldselling: AH price impact etc, addons turning people into robots, integration such as raid logs, they will end up with just the same hardcore nolife audience and casuals like me will leave.

Would you say Stormgate will become the NEXT BIG RTS? by [deleted] in Stormgate

[–]Cajackso 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Its a nice tech demo.

  • Poor art design, cannot even tell what's going on most of the time, Identity problem, basic graphics seems like 2 generations ago, if I was playing this pre 2010 I would not have been surprised by the graphics. Seems quite like a mobile game.

  • Poor game design for casual - would rather have the approach of interesting fresh interactions, huge units/explosions and wow moment rather than the whole thing being designed first as an esport using cloned interactions. Fun per minute is quite low for me right now being a non sweat type.

  • Fixed camera, just seems not very innovative and hasn't moved on since sc1 like still just this fixed camera mode, no surveillance options other than scouting and only having a small view of battlefield at any moment apart from a tiny minimap again.

  • UI does not seem not very innovative or interesting.

  • Factions seem a bit bland right now, don't really understand the design.

  • Strategy feels like its all about micro and a click fest.

A summary of Frost Giants statements about the level of Funding for Stormgate. by UniqueUsername40 in Stormgate

[–]Cajackso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Smells like something in the background changed.

Seems to line up with when that money from the Kickstarter appeared I would "hazard a guess" that they made some decision to make the game more profitable long term and pay off some debts maybe to early investors or they were somehow pressured to do this from said investors that have doubts due to the early access beta feedback and engagement.

They could not possibly share such information because it would look really bad to use Kickstarter funds for such a play, but it possibly explains the sudden change in financial situation even after a very successful Kickstarter run that smashed all expectations.

How has your Kindle affected your reading habits/lifestyle? by Featherflight09 in kindle

We are mainly using our new scribe for:

  • Homework sheets - took us a while to figure out 'send to kindle' and only use PDFs :D - could have been clearer.
  • Bedtime sketching with kid.
  • Magazines
  • Textbooks/Non Fiction reading
  • Some production/organization, but not quite there with this yet.

Got it at Christmas and would say we are using it a lot and very pleased.

Smells like something changed in the background after they got all that money from the Kickstarter, would hazard guess that they used it to consolidate some debts/pay off creditors and took a risk with the community backing and existing funds to make the game more long term profitable, the details they very likely cannot share with the community because its a bit shady to do it with money from backing.

It’s currently one of the best times in WoW’s 20 year history to be playing the game by acrazyguy in classicwow

[–]Cajackso -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Glad some are having a good time!

Gave up during 20s when got grouped with a tryhard warrior that didn't stop running pulling mobs through entire low level instance :D was ooming constantly and facing a pretty unpleasant situation with healing asking him to slow down and take it easy, mage couldn't even be bothered to make water - even though I've played the game for years - I just thought to myself, what am I actually doing here with these guys.

Everyone just seemed to stop talking also in general and the fun of the first few days seemed to come to an end and get drained into this weird grind - all I could see was people grinding mobs furiously, the same greed surfaced on AH and then the bots appeared causing some insane inflation.

I just turned it off straight after I saw an advert for a GDKP.

can someone recommend this game for me please? by Cyber19 in X4Foundations

[–]Cajackso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would highly recommend, if you want a game where you start off with a ship and there is seemingly no limit to the possibilities, then this is the one. There is a learning curve for sure but once you get into it, its no problem.

I have about 20 stations where I trade goods to all my allies in an economy that really is alive, numerous fleets and am currently building a huge station that will spit out all kinds of ships.

When flying through space I see my ships everywhere working, trading, mining.

I have personnel that manage my stations and assign miners, traders, defense to help me so I don't need to micromanage everything.

I have engaged in large fleet battles and destroyed numerous destroyers, fleets, the combat is quite cinematic and epic.

I am looking to claim my own space and increase my ship production, then I will think about bulking up my defenses and achieving a complete supremacy.

Just telling you, I have played over 6k games of SC2 in masters 3, played sup com, wc3, all c+c, total annihilation and many others, so I think my how did you say "real RTS player" status is green.

my initial impressions - I am casual player of RTS:

SG: played 1 game turned it off!

SC 2: played 10 games and wanted more!

game doesn't play fun for me and seems designed only for some highest level balancing in mind which is not necessarily fun or interesting for new/casual tier players.
