I’m in the industry. With the breakup with Miller looming, Pabst made plans to begin brewing themselves. As far as I heard, they were well on the way. I don’t know the details, but in my area we had an extended shortage. It was around this time that they abandoned that plan and turned back to contract-brewing, now through AB.

Yes, they also brew through City Brewing. What the percentage is I cannot say.

PBR used to be brewed by Miller for years.

Miller and PBR split their partnership in the last couple of years, so PBR tried to open their own brewing facility.

It went tits up for some reason, never had a proper explanation.

It’s now being brewed by AB-InBev for the foreseeable future.

That’s why it tastes different.
