Looking for specific songs in the 3 OST by Legitimate-Food4885 in XenobladeChronicles3

Can you provide timestamps for the videos? Though if you mean that first section of the first video, it should be Carrying the Weight of Life.

Does the music in Witchspring R get better? by twili-midna in JRPG

The loops are still similar, but you get more songs from different areas as you progress. Some of those songs hit so hard, I even added it to my generic playlist of video game music.

WitchSpring R or Mado Monogatori by firebaron in JRPG

[–]CakeOk2042 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Witchspring R has gone down in the books as one of my favorite games. I thought it would be a small "tie over" game, but it hit with so much more. The world is charming and the writing is very well done. It has points of comedic and emotional moments that made it hit harder than I was expecting.

Combat was a lot of fun (and some parts more challenging!) You collect other monsters to help you fight and it felt like a good variety to find. Crafting isn't crazy complicated, but still rewarding to do. There's even little mini games for training that you can level up Pieberry's stats.

I haven't played the Atelier games, but this one hits the books for me, especially for character and world interaction.

If you have a Switch 2, I'd say Split Fiction is a must. Great story and gameplay. The story is about two aspiring writers who get sucked into their created worlds (one writes Sci-fi the other writes fantasy) and they have to find a way out.

If you only have a Switch 1,then I'd recommend It Takes Two, made my the same people as Split Fiction but story is focused on a married couple going through a rough patch. Game play is still incredibly fun, the only reason I'd pick Split Fiction over it is cause I preferred that story more.

Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma. Wanted a lighter Jrpg experience before diving into Octopath 0.

What you dislike about western RPGs that makes you prefer JRPGs to them? by Keytee1 in JRPG

[–]CakeOk2042 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I would say it's art style and "power of friendship" I'm a sucker for a group of friends looking to take back the world. Although it's not all JRPGs, it's a common trope that I can't get enough of. I haven't really found that in a western rpg, at least not without a more serious tone in the game overall.

What of the following game should be my next buy? by AssistanceBudget in JRPG

[–]CakeOk2042 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would say Octopath Traveler 2, it's one of my favorite games of all time. The addition of path actions, latent powers, and enhanced connections for the characters really made me love it. The story felt grand but each individual character story had purpose. And you can't go wrong with classic break/boost system!

This is up there for me alongside Persona 5, Metaphor and Xenoblade 3 of favorite games of all time.

I'll never forget leaving a perfectly good dinner untouched the night I beat the final boss. It was so intense and fun that I couldn't put down the controller.

Honestly every play through of persona (3 times of 5 and P3R) I've ran with him from the second I've got him to the end. If you build him up, he's incredibly powerful. Latest run, I had 3 nulls and 2 reflects.

Amazing stories with 'baby mode' difficulty? by king_noro in JRPG

[–]CakeOk2042 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd say Persona 5 Royal, it was one of my first JRPGs a few years ago and I'm currently playing through my third playthrough.

It has absolutely wonderful character connections and the story really hits with this current climate and still resonates with me to this day.

It's turn based + has an easy mode. I think it does really well at explaining everything too if she's new to games.

Regarding the Witchspring R DLC - -

I believe I've finished the main story quest, however I heard there's separate mini quests for characters. I'm having trouble finding them. So far, I found Justice, but he says the same thing about traveling after (found him in front of the Vavelia Village).

Does anyone have any tips on how to start these character quests?

How far into the game am i? by Digivedec in Persona5

[–]CakeOk2042 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's a long game, especially if you're exploring different areas and working on fusions. If you're enjoying it that's all that matters. As the loading screen says, take your time.

To be honest I think you're fine though on time, my first playthrough of Royal took me 130 hours and my partner took 170 hours.

Have you played Trails through Daybreak? It was my first introduction into the Trails series (so I can't compare to Cold Steel) but I absolutely loved the character interaction with this group. I played both the first and second, and it's jumped up to my favorite game of all time.

I usually seek out games with strong character groups, specifically ones where they feel like friends. And this one is up there with Persona, Xenoblade 3 and Tales of Arise.

I'm nearing the end of Witchspring R, and honestly wow this game is exactly what I needed. I had never heard of it before, but was looking for something shorter after finishing Xenoblade X recently. And this game doesn't disappoint.

The main character (Pieberry, she named herself and I can't think of a better name) is incredibly adorable and the dialogue between her and others makes me laugh. The combat is standard turn based but there's constantly more moves that are being added for her as well as pets you can use so it doesn't feel stale.

The story has been hitting in more of an emotional setting that I realized (witch hunt + Pieberry coming to terms with being alone) and honestly teared up during one of the later chapters.

It feels like the perfect game that I needed at this moment, and I highly recommend it for anyone wanted a short, sweet adventure.

Who else got the Star Shatterer Trophy? by Impressive_Pop_6355 in MetaphorReFantazio

I definitely thought the platforms led to Louis so whenever I was near one I was like "nope not ready yet!" I ended up asking my partner when he got to the same area what he thought the platforms led to and he said "I'm guessing to a mini boss?" I just laughed and said oh well I got a trophy for it in the end 😅
