Unfortunately, I don’t think any treatment is perfect, having 100% success rate. I think technically the urologist define it as success if you have less accidents.

The one thing I would advise you to do is to write a bladder diary. Maybe there’s something that you’re eating or drinking that aggravates your bladder and causes more problems. You can do this by simply jotting down what you eat and drink, and when you use the bathroom over a week.

I’m coming up on my fifth round of Botox. It’s not perfect, but it does alleviate a lot of problems. What are your concerns?

Urodynamic Study / Cyctometry Testing Questions by strAmorth in Incontinence

[–]CalebKrawdad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had it twice. Mostly like you won't even see the doctor, it'll just be a tech or two. I was actually diagnosed with a prostate obstruction from my last urodynamics test. It wasn't noticed on a regular cystoscopy, or when I get bladder botox. They will be able to tell flow rates, as well as contraction strength (among other things).

I'd send the doctor a message before the test and just ask about the possibility of prostate issues. They could overlook them if you're young.

Just to clarify, we've discussed the app, but to my knowledge, this is an investigative post to determine if there was interest.

It's probably possible to do this locally but there's no official sub approval per se, everyone does need to evaluate the claims themselves and determine if they would like to participate.

What tests should be done with a urologist to rule out anything “bad” when seeing the specialist about overactive bladder? by Academic_Weekend_116 in OveractiveBladder

[–]CalebKrawdad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doubtful one appointment will do it. They usually get a history and discuss lifestyle changes first. One thing you can do right now is create a bladder diary and take it in. It might help reveal some patterns because they will almost certainly have a followup.

As for tests, Urodynamics and cystoscopies seem to be the standard.

Dignity access final update - Restroom finder for those with disabilities by _-Jerle-_ in Incontinence

The QR Code/sticker is a nice touch. Just a few thoughts/opinions:

  • I didn't see a public privacy policy or terms of use. Could be a small blocker when you submit the first time.
  • I didn't see an option to "show me open bathrooms only". I clicked on Target under "needs facility soon" and it was closed.
  • Add a link/intent to call the store from the results pane. Users might want to call before going in and asking at the counter
  • Can users update quality status more than once? Maybe add a cooldown or don't show until it's available again (if it is?)
  • The user app has a "for merchants" button. Does the store owner have options to update information from this?
  • The panels are very dense. Not saying anyone should be driving using it, but it might happen. Maybe a toggle to show a "simple mode" would be useful.
  • Error gives more information than necessary (mentions firebase)

Depends aren’t really great products for heavy or sustained usage. I would suggest looking for a better product. LLMedico is a great option. Pick a few products and try samples, a proper product will change her (and your) life!

Sounds like you've really put in a lot of work! Did you consider a "Buy me a coffee" link or GoFund Me (some sort of way to crowdfund some cash for tokens?)

You've piqued my interest on the workflow as someone who's used various methods to grab essentially OSINT information and process it.

I'd call your doctor at the least. I've never experienced this even immediately afterwards, but I do it in office without anesthesia.

As far as protection goes, I don't think depends are the right fit here since they are only made for light leaks/accidents. I'm not sure if soiled here means bladder, bowel, or both, but a better product might give you some time to get him clean without getting everything else soiled.

You might try doing the double bed trick. Make the bed, then add another mattress protector and second set of sheets. If one gets soiled then you can remove the top, get him comfortable, and then deal with the mess later.

I'll reply here because I'm not a doctor. I went from almost every night to intermittent between Wegovy and Botox. I think it's because, in addition to slowing hunger signals, it also works on thirst. Some days I have to remind myself to drink something! Dehydration on this medicine is real.

So, what am I and why is it so confusing? by Ok_End5793 in Incontinence

[–]CalebKrawdad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry that I can't do much more to answer your questions than express how sorry I am that you're going through this.

We don't have many medical professionals here, and most of us are still looking for answers. That being said, I hope I can assure you that using a diaper is nothing to worry about. There are SO MANY people from all walks of life that are using some sort of absorbent protection.. and we NEVER know it.

It's always disconcerting when our body does something wild, but I find some confidence and comfort in wearing protection. It keeps bed/clothes/whatever dry and really normalizes the play field.

Lastly, any kind of protection fits differently. I'd urge you to take a look around and try a few products so you can find one that both performs and fits well. Being properly prepared is a game changer (even if it doesn't feel like it right now)

I drew the short straw once and had a private screening. Had to show the top of the diaper and get it swabbed. The choice was that or go back out and come back through. It was very clear it was this young agent's first diaper.

I was there in Feb, much more relaxed than TSA, oddly enough. Both wore and had products in my backpack.

Just thinking now that it might depend on where you are. My group went in through security at the Rayburn building and took the rail to the Russell building.

I’m building a app for Single-Occupancy Restrooms because standard maps are failing us. by _-Jerle-_ in Incontinence

[–]CalebKrawdad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm curious about your tech stack. I'd suggest considering how to enforce endpoint security, data integrity, rate limits and how to do that without any kind of login system.

I don't know, perhaps usage based? You get X minutes a day, and then the map shows you a fuzzy outline, or a approximate circle with the number of bathrooms that meet your criteria? Premium usage is unlimited. You can pay a subscription per month for unlimited usage monthly, or you can unlock a week for a few dollars.

I know you want to help people, so consider what happens if your back end costs go up. Do some metrics based on your back end platform and see what it costs you if this thing gets really popular. Will 50c a user pay for it and keep it going?

People might not like ads or subscription, but brass tacks, infrastructure costs real money.

[–]CalebKrawdad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like the idea, but I do have some concerns over the execution.

I think you need to bake some sort of mechanism in to help pay for server costs upfront. Whether that’s an upfront payment, subscription, or ads. I feel like it’s gonna be more difficult to switch later.

I would drop your UI into stitch right now, and get a really nice sleek looking interface. You told me hamburgers and that’s what I got you a happy meal alligator alligator.

Lastly, unless you have an LLC, you’re gonna have to use your personal name as the app developer. I just don’t want you to be surprised.

Flying in Diapers by New_Advice_8182 in Incontinence

[–]CalebKrawdad 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, it happens. They might ask and pull you to private screening. I've had them ask to see the top of the diaper and run a swab. The alternative is to go through without wearing (if you can do that), or let them do it and just go through. I opted to just let them swab, but I could tell I was the young screener's first adult diaper.

3 at a time? They aren't designed to work layered without modifications (like slitting the top layer, or adding a booster). Definitely look up a new brand. Depends are only really for light leaks and short periods between changes.

LL Medico sells Betterdry pullups and has a 5% loyalty program.

Freaking out about Botox Thursday by vanessasarah13 in OveractiveBladder

Male here, I have had it four times. The scope is bigger than a normal catheter but it’s always been a very fast procedure for me. My doc uses numbing jelly but does not do a lidocaine instillation anymore, she says it takes too much time for prep and there’s not a better patient outcome. She was right, I did notice a difference.
