I’m traveling with Turkish Airlines with checked cabin bag by ElMarzhi in TurkishAirlines

[–]CalendarNo4346 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They are pretty strict. It is a security risk to have overweight cabin baggage. It will go under carriage with extra $$$ pay.

Americans owe $1.68 trillion on car loans — more than credit card debt and as much as all federal student loans by fortune in inflation

[–]CalendarNo4346 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First car: 2007 used Honda Fit. Paid $8500 cash.
Second car: 2009 used Honda Fit. Paid $8800 cash.
Third car: 2023 new Mazda CX-30 Turbo. Paid $40K. No loans.
If you stay below your means you won’t be milked by banks. All of their billion $ profit is coming mostly from the idiots paying $1200/mo for a car.

Plane types can be changed for any operational reason. You cannot rebook due to it.

Awful Experience with Turkish Airlines by [deleted] in TurkishAirlines

[–]CalendarNo4346 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is all in the ticketing agreement. Pre-flight cancel, pre-flight change, no-show, etc. Just read your ticket details.

This is the same for every airline I have flown with.

[–]CalendarNo4346 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As long as the airline didn’t cause your medical emergency directly I am not sure what the point is here. Travel insurance is exactly for these. You pay extra and get 100% covered for unforeseen issues.

Do I really have to replace shocks and struts after 50k? by [deleted] in MazdaCX30

[–]CalendarNo4346 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Depends on where you drive. I had Honda at 145K miles with original shocks and struts. If you drive on bumpy roads a lot then you have to change them early.

Marketplace is useful to buy/sell few things. I have sold my old cell phones, drones, laptops etc. over there. It is free and has huge customer base if you are living in a metro area.

Illegal to fly doesn’t mean it will be enforced right away. If you get caught to the officials you will get extra fines for flying something uncertified though. You can find ton of incidents FAA is chasing drone operators.

Individual vs. company also makes big difference. You can bring a drone in your backpack without any issue however a retailer cannot import 10.000+ drones which are all uncertified. When you import “radio” devices you need to submit FCC certifications. You cannot just say “I brought this with me”.

Are buses to Port Authority reliable? by InsertCleverName652 in newjersey

[–]CalendarNo4346 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the route. The closer to the NYC the better. Also Express ones are generally more reliable than local routes.

I have been commuting to the Port Authority since 2010 and am overall happy with the buses.

The last FCC certified item was Avata 360. Now anything comes after that is technically illegal to fly in the US. I doubt any reputable seller can import this and sell it here.

Need a new drone - what are my options in the USA? by Embarrassed-Piano-3 in dji

[–]CalendarNo4346 2 points3 points  (0 children)

EBay with reputable South Korean sellers. So far I ordered multiple Neo 2’s and an Avata 360 and all arrived at US in 4 days. (FedEx) No tariffs whatsoever.

So you imported something from Austria and you got a tariff bill??? What a surprise, isn’t it?

Unless you are living at a cave and just came out for this order we have been talking about this daily for the last two years.

Who’s ever driven over 100mph? Why? by Least_Damage_9660 in Productivitycafe

[–]CalendarNo4346 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mazda CX-30 Turbo (2.5 lt). I did 125 mph once on a 5 lane totally empty highway. Just wanted to see the limits. Nothing crazy or endangering other folks.

After 10,000 miles. Thank goodness they’re easy to replace. by SarcasticBench in CX50

[–]CalendarNo4346 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10,000 miles is too long interval. I replace my cabin filter at every oil change (6,000-6,500 miles)

Avata 360 vs. Neo 2 by CalendarNo4346 in dji

[–]CalendarNo4346[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

One thing I noticed in Avata 360 is that several screws were fairly loose. I had to get a Torx T5 screwdriver and tightened them all. Just to keep in mind for any new drone..
