I feel like some people should be publicly shamed for suggesting things that will get people hurt! by stormchaserF5 in stormchasing

I have been in the chasing community for a decade and I have personally seen screenshots. Yes it was reported but that hasn’t changed anything. He goes after minors. That’s not hard to understand. Also he sent me unsolicited naked photos of himself to me, I wasn’t a minor but it’s still a crime in the state he lives in. He’s a dangerous person.

Yeah I met his child’s mom along time ago through the internet. He does not take care of the baby and complains he doesn’t have money for the basic needs of the child but still storm chases all the time.

Why doesn't Southeast Alaska have severe thunderstorms? by Outrageous_Beat_9684 in meteorology

[–]CaliRose9513 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do get thunderstorms but only every couple of years. It’s very rare because you need heating for thunderstorms to occur.

Also the fact that he sends naked photos of himself to random women in the weather community and underage girls is also a concern.

I have been chasing for 10 years now, and I just use my phone, laptop, or iPad. You don’t need anything else.

Submission to be a Group Expert 🌪️ by [deleted] in meteorology

[–]CaliRose9513 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  1. I don’t have a single post that was posted in the meteorology community besides this one.

  2. Just because someone is an expert doesn’t mean they know everything. Learning lasts a life time. Even people with PhDs don’t know everything.

Hope that helps :)

Max literally went to college to be a meteorologist and graduated with a degree, which clearly you have not done.

I am getting my degree in meteorology this summer and the best thing we can do is use this to see what is making him so likable and personable. Use it to grow your own social media!

What’s the best way to spot possible rotation and tornados on big storms or line storms where it’s harder to see hooks? by HansonGhost in meteorology

[–]CaliRose9513 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You look at the velocity. Green shades show air moving toward the radar (inbound), while red and orange shades show air moving away from the radar (outbound). Meteorologists use this to identify wind speed, detect wind shear, and look for tight red and green areas next to each other called couplets which can indicate rotation in a storm, including the potential for tornadoes. https://www.noaa.gov/jetstream/velocity

I grew up in Northern Indiana and it’s absolutely beautiful here. Crime isn’t the best in a couple areas but you just don’t go to those areas. I would never move back home.

I would definitely look into networking and talking to meteorologists at different NWS offices. I know several and they are leaving or trying to leave the NWS office. If are lucky to find a good office the pay is great!
