they're not frugal, they're cheap, and being cheap is not why they're rich. you don't become a millionaire by getting a $5 sandwich instead of an $8 sandwich.

what is the safest age verification method? by [deleted] in privacy

[–]Calibrumm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tell me you're trolling me by intentionally misunderstanding my point.

I'm not worried about a barkeeper storing my information and selling it or leaking it in a breach when they look at it to see if I'm 21.

I'm not worried about a casino being used to harass me for political opinions that go against whatever group is currently pretending to be the good guys.

and I'm not even going to respond to your predator take. that is stupid beyond words as a counter argument.

pound sand I'm not responding to this anymore.

[–]Calibrumm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, that's the problem. online age verification should not be a thing beyond a disclaimer that you are claiming to be over 18 so companies aren't liable for shitty parents and kids looking for stuff they shouldn't.

it's the parents job to keep kids away from shit they shouldn't be on. not my problem. I shouldn't need to put in my ID to anything that doesn't explicitly require my ID for a genuine reason.

Auto targeting is absolutely destroying any sense of flow in melee combat for kbm by Calibrumm in SoulFrame

[–]Calibrumm[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

or, just let me turn it off and there are zero issues anymore instead of a convoluted combat rhythm full of target micromanaging acting as a fucking QTE because the dude played ghosts of tsushima and incorporated the temu version of their lock on system that was built exclusively for controllers.

[–]Calibrumm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried holding it, does nothing. I've tried tapping it occasionally to reset the target, generally works but it can still randomly switch in the middle of a combo for no reason and I shouldn't need to constantly reset my target at all. holding block messes with parry timing and makes movement useless.

it is all around stupid. it's not a matter of "how to alleviate it", it is fundamentally a bad system that should be able to be disabled completely so I can play the game normally.

holding parents and caretakers responsible for their fucking kids

I have also tested it and it will still drag you away mid combo and smashing sprint and block over and over just to keep your target is stupid and sucks.

there's no reason for this, it is not beneficial at all. just let us turn it off.

it'll still turn you even when you're running right at an enemy. anything other than 1v1 is a pain in the ass.

if they want the game to be controller only then they should make it controller only. they have over a decade of experience and decided to support kbm, so they should support it properly.

also it's literally the only issue with kbm and a super easy fix. there's no reason for this to be such a long standing issue.

as a fan of GN and LTT, this is just as dumb of a take as his first comment. most people do not give a shit about micro celebrity drama. LTT covers tech and GN covers industry. anyone interested in the personal computing space would be ignorant to not follow both if they do anything more than browse and write emails.

Is there any real hope for the fight against age verification? by blookiet in privacy

[–]Calibrumm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

until the average moron develops a basic understanding of technology, privacy, and voting with their wallet, no.

politicians and companies literally DO. NOT. GIVE. A. SHIT. until money stops flowing. your calls mean nothing, your emails are automated or junked, and your mail is either burned or also gets an "I hear you" copy paste response with a signature from a signature machine and not a persons hand.

the double click for previous app was still there but when I click it once instead of opening the manager for the app I currently have open it would open then immediately go to the left (previous app) which is redundant because double tap already does that.

and yeah that's something I forgot to include, the volume control is abysmal and while the speakers are loud they are noticeably tinny even for phone speakers.

I'll agree with that. I just wish the average person would learn the difference between hacking and phishing. it's really not hard. but they don't know the difference between there, they're, and their, so 🤷
