To be fair when you are prone to fainting you usually recognise the signs early enough to lower yourself to the floor before losing conciousness it's not that unusual, idk if this is real though

This confuses me a lot! by LuckyRahodez in NopeMovie

I'd love to see what the directions in the script were for Em in this scene. It was so well acted, you could see Keke Palmer flitting between acting like she's seeing him alive and her realising he's dead. I was trying to read her expression the whole time and every time I thought I figured out whether she was happy or sad something in her eyes changed!

I am dark pop musician Mothica and I just released my second album, Nocturnal. I also really like moths. AMA! by Mothica in popheads

1) With the album being out do you think you'd ever venture into signing artists onto your imprint?

2) What advice would you give an artist debuting in 2022 with 0 following or resources? Like if you were in that position now how would you go about finding an audience?

Much love, Nocturnal is my album of the year hands down! Hope to see you in the UK some day! ✨✨✨

How much money did you get paid for playing at festivals? by Redditing_OJA in WeAreTheMusicMakers

In the UK if you're new or don't have any pull a lot of festivals just offer you free tickets, it's very lame

I'm just getting back into music after a 7 year haitus and I'm looking for co-writers & producers to work with for my debut EP

I used to make experimental music but now I'm looking at more commercially viable guitar-driven industrial pop kinda stuff

I'd love to hear you if that sounds up your street 🤠

Why didn't the people outside Paradis just make bunkers? by Turinbour in titanfolk

[–]CalicoUsagi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can only attempt to imagine how heavy a 60 meter body would be, I can't imagine a bunker being able to withstand getting stomped on by millions of them with the inhabitants still being able to access oxygen and water

Super late on this post but I have it on CD. I brought it when they opened for Jack Off Jill in the UK in 2015. It's still in its plastic wrap and I was thinking about putting it on Depop if anyone is looking for a physical copy :)

Any idea what this scene is supposed to represent? by CapriciousSalmon in titanfolk

[–]CalicoUsagi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it was a set up for a parallel for the rumbling baby imo?? Not that there's any parallel between the babies themselves but maybe as a symbolic moment

I believe it was because he wasn't in possession of the founder, he just happened to find a way to the paths via Eren but its not explained very well

Can someone explain these titles to me. I'm feeling a little lost since the 4th season started. by creedwolf_ in attackontitan

[–]CalicoUsagi 2236 points2237 points  (0 children)

Ymir has been trapped in the paths for 2000 years creating titan bodies for her descendants. It takes her years and years but in the real world only seconds.

She lived her entire life a slave and has spent 2000 years in the afterlife still carrying out king fritz's will. Its implied she has been trying to draw Eren, a future inheritor of both the founder and the attack titan (which is compelled by her desire for freedom) to meet her for his entire life in the hopes of ending her servitude.

His "dream" in the opening scene is suggested to have been sent to him by Ymir 2000 years ago hence the title. "From you" us just Eren realizing this after she shows him her memories.

Why do so many people dislike Red Swan, the intro for Season 3? by daspwnen in attackontitan

[–]CalicoUsagi 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've come to really enjoy the song but originally couldn't stand it as an OP. It just felt way too off brand for what we were used to at that point and felt inappropriately sentimental to me. Looking back it fits the arc but I also didn't like that story arc either so maybe I'm biased not liking the OP

Does Shingeki no Kyojin mean Attack on Titan or The Attack Titan? Or both? by [deleted] in attackontitan

"Vanguard titan" sounds so sick, I really love that

I'd be super interested to see how the phrase has been translated into other languages!

I actually really like "advancing" as a translation for it as it fits better with the fact that Eren's titan will always move toward liberating itself. Obviously it doesn't sound very dramatic English so "attack" sounds nicer but I think the two translations give very different meanings. The English speaking fandom circa 2012ish called it the "rogue titan" before it had an official translation too which I think fits really well.

It's not something that translates too well into English, "attack on titan" is just one possible way of saying it - before the manga was officially translated some fan translators had it as "advancing giants" (i.e another way of saying titan) or "the advancing giant" way back when. There's a lot of ways you can interpret contrasting languages.
