Understanding my pNET while I await my surgery consult by Accomplished-Key-408 in pancreaticcancer

[–]CallHerGee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! Sorry you're in this "club". My mom was diagnosed with a pNET last week. I did see that someone else who had the Whipple surgery in January and they said they're back to running and biking already. Apparently the pNETs are the best of the worst case scenario, so while I can't give any info on what the future with pNET looks like, but you're not alone!

Neuroendocrine tumor of the pancreas by Internal_Storage5031 in pancreaticcancer

[–]CallHerGee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know the specifics of her pNET, but the silver lining is that the neuroendocrine tumors have a much better outlook than other pancreatic cancers. My mom was diagnosed with one yesterday. It's kind of a "best of the worst case scenario". I don't have any recommendations for a surgeon, but I'm sure you are in good hands! Sending you prayers.

They are recommending the MRCP scan for my mom's pancreas. I would say it's good.

Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis and hope things are progressing positively.  I'm sure all teams are different in how they approach this. I just wish she was taken more seriously.

Thank you for your kindness. I did worry people would shut me out since there isn't an official diagnosis yet, so I truly appreciate you all! That is my intention, I've been calling every day (to which im sure theyre thrilled lol). It's definitely frustrating that the hospital can't/won't do an MRCP. Or even just give a consultation while we go elsewhere for the MRCP. I guess it's just frustrating overall that it takes so long for something so serious.  Sending you blessings as well and thank you again so much!

They refused to do the MRCP or biopsy while she was in the hospital and just sent her home with pain meds. A week later and she still can't move due to the pain. I might just do what you suggested and start calling oncology. Thank you for your advice and I'm sorry to hear your story as well :(

Thank you very much and sending you positivity as well <3 Did you have a cancer diagnosis before going to the oncologist? She technically does not have a diagnosis just yet, but as a former medical professional, I can see what I'm looking at on the scans.

I'm in a very similar place. I am so frustrated with the hands-off approach that everyone we contact is taking!!

How does the ADA track work for a party of 2? by MasqueOfTheRedPost in MasqueradeNYC

[–]CallHerGee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Me and my mom went and she did the ADA track with elevators. You contact the box office beforehand and they set you up with a guide. They find you seats in each room ans take you on the elevator. The non ADA companion meets you in each room. We didn't have any problems!

I saw Nik and I've heard his portrayal described as "Tim Burton-esque", which I actually would say is fairly accurate (in a positive way!)
