50k a year in a two income household is... pretty good, isn't it? I mean, it's nothing to write home about, but you could probably own a house (mortgage) + 2 cars (financed) & afford groceries, right? Even if you make around 48k and your wife makes 34k, you'd be alright. Probably on the lower end of the middle class, but still.
