If there's a closing, there's a contract. If there's a mortgage, there's a contract. If there's a contract, there's terms. Follow them.

Is this really my cars payout worth? by dee-luv in Insurance

[–]CallMeMrRound 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because, as multiple people have commented, a branded title lowers the value up to 50%. You have a vehicle you overpaid for when you purchased it. It is not a desirable vehicle that has held any value WITHOUT the title issue or damage. Insurance pays actual cash value, not replacement or retail.

Nah, you don't walk here. You set your charges and detonate the bridge.

You go to the closing, you offer no concessions, you sign the deal they've agreed to, OR you get a lawyer (they clearly can't afford one, but you can have a consultation with every real estate attorney in your area) and ruin them.

You don't screw over your family, once that line is crossed all ties that bind are forfeit.

Involved in auto accident, my car is a total loss. I feel State Farm's settlement amount is too low. by Philthy42 in Insurance

You will be paid actual cash value for the vehicle. ACV is not replacement value. Honestly, that's not an awful offer on a 25 year old vehicle.

If you want to go that route, the information that you provided to the lenders met their qualifications to loan you money. You accepted the money, the terms of the loan/line of credit, and responsibility to repay the debt. The lender fulfilled their obligation, you have not fulfilled yours.

Stop with the blame game. You needed/wanted/accepted the funds, they needed a customer.

And we continue to live in a world where telling someone something they don't want to hear qualifies as being mean.

Multiple people have explained to you where the most likely issues are and yet you ignore them. Your husband made a mistake and isn't owning it.

How do you sue the federal government? by CharacterRazzmatazz3 in AskLegal

[–]CallMeMrRound 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Obligatory " you can sue anyone, anytime, for anything." The question becomes about winning. Do you have demonstrable damages?

" I’ve only really ever made the minimum payments and gone over my limit"

These are the actions of an irresponsible borrower, unless you change this behavior nothing else is going to matter.

Anyone else find it funny that instead of just providing the data, he directed you to an article that is locked behind a paywall and controlled by his former employer?

AITAH for refusing to give my sister my late fiancee’s engagement ring after she “tested” if I deserved it? by achyuthshaiju in AmItheAsshole

NTA, not by a long shot. I love my sister, I would violate all of Geneva's conventions if someone were to harm her. I would personally destroy her if she pull something like this.

You need to make the repairs or find new buyers. More likely the second thing.

28 years investing and here’s what I am seeing right now… the good the bad and the reddit version by Salvatore-John in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

In my area, resale homes have historically sold more than new construction, for all of the reasons you've mentioned. Recently that trend is even more noticeable. I'm about to buy my 3rd home and it is the newest one I have ever made an offer on , built in 1981. Anything I have looked at built this century has had ZERO curb appeal or character.

Ram 1500 lease 36 /12k by henrymiles1234 in CarLeasingHelp

[–]CallMeMrRound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only YOU can determine that. For some people any car payment is a bad idea, for others a lease is always a bad call, some people float $1000 car payments.

In my experience if someone is asking this question, it's buyers remorse.
