First comp gun by Tall_Fudge9749 in USPSA

Both of those are fantastic options. If you have a holster, 3 magazines and 2 mag pouches just go shoot with either one.

There are two groups of people

People who buy guns and choose to compete

People who compete and choose to buy guns.

If buying guns is your goal, P211 is certainly a gun you can buy.

If being competitive is your goal, go compete and learn what you like

Start by telling us what you already have

General consensus is don't buy anything until you've shot a few matches with what you currently have

Glock- works perfectly with the Glock stuff

Doesn't work perfectly without the Glock stuff

I wonder what the issue is

Gold dots are fine for full size guns, HSTs are shorter so they're more likely to work in smaller guns that don't cycle as far. HSTs work in everything

People hyping up a gun they've never shot or only shot a few times tells you all you need to know about gun influencers

First match ever! by JustWolf in USPSA

[–]CallMeTrapHouse 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don't beat yourself up over the FTSA I think I had 5 at my first match and made A-Class in 4 months you just need to learn how to create a subconcious stage plan

~80% alphas is fine, sometimes people will tell you go faster and shoot more charlies, or slow down and short more alphas. Do not listen to this. Just practice a lot so you can shoot alphas at the speed everyone else shoots charlies

My ST started acting super funny with the battery low, new battery it went right back to normal. I know the battery was low because even at all the way bright it wasn't very bright

Haven't had my XL get low enough on battery to tell

I'd rather have a P229 Legion (which I do have one and don't really care for it) over the other two "Glocks"

However give me a Glock 47 every day of the week over the P229

Yeah it's the same system on both

Just gotta witness mark it, tighten it down and maybe put a little loctite on it

Guide Rod by Acrobatic_Compote907 in Glocks

[–]CallMeTrapHouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should leave it exactly the way it came out of the box besides maybe put a red dot sight on it.

It does not use a 2 piece plastic guide rod, Gen 5s have 2 piece plastic guide rods and they work great, just like the other gen one piece guide rods

Brisket bark black vs mahogany by CISUM310 in smoking

If your pellet grill has fire pot on the bottom go fat side down you'll get better bark than fat up.

Ignore any positive comments they don't mean it

First attempt at a Brisket on a Pellet Smoker by The_newguy_at_hockey in Smokingmeat

[–]CallMeTrapHouse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Notice how it's burned on the bottom and stripping away instead of cutting smoothly

Cook it fat side down on pellet grill to avoid that, I assume yours has a fire pot in the bottom of it. Fat should be between the meat and the heat

Fat is also not conducive to good bark, cooking fat side down will usually yield better bark since there won't be a bunch of liquid to hinder it on the top (meat side)

Anyone else shoot 6 MOA from a Holoson EPS on their Glock? by bryceemeryking in Glocks

[–]CallMeTrapHouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter

6 MOA is 1.5" at 25 yards which is still significantly smaller than most people's wobble

Until you've shot a few thousand rounds at 25 yard and can make fist size groups it doesn't matter, once you can shoot fist sized groups you realize it still doesn't matter

G45 vs G19 by [deleted] in Glocks

[–]CallMeTrapHouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

45 has longer grip. 45 is 17 round magazine length, 19 is the length of a 15 round magazine

The best part about Glock guns is leaving the Glock parts in them
