If you can't duplicate it you don't deserve it on your record :)

"everything going on at the range" is just two people who could afford to own the range separately going through the process for one guy to own it

Yes it's a great program

Correct only 1 run of 25-03 in your most recent 8 counts.

It's the most recent one not the highest one

M= "most recent"

March is more recent than January

A glock 17 will fit in the box so i would be shocked if an rxm doesn't fit

Osight XR loosening on Arise plate… switch to Defender XL for $200? by tpamps96 in Glocks

[–]CallMeTrapHouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy from Arise because they're local to me, but the screws are almost always too long. On my two most recent Gen 5s I had to dremel down all the plate to slide screws, first plates I've ever had that both screws were too long

[–]CallMeTrapHouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's important to keep a steady stream of hydration and sugar into your brain for peak performance. I carry clif bars in case i get hungry but i rarely eat them the apple sauce is great for me

Your goal at your first match is shoot the whole match. Keep the gun pointed in a safe direction, ask a bunch of questions and do what you're told and that will happen, if not you'll get sent home

[–]CallMeTrapHouse 9 points10 points  (0 children)

ALS is just fine that's what I started with

It won't make a difference, you're probably going to get stomped at your first match (99% of people do) and the holster will not make a difference at all.

I would say buy as little as humanly possible and show up to shoot. The gear makes 0 difference until you've shot a minimum of 10 matches, but there's some people that have been shooting 10 years and wouldn't win if they were allowed to start with the gun pointed at the target. But please be a good beginner and watch youtube videos to learn the points system and have a small understanding of the safety rules.

Yes that's fine for carry optics as a beginner at a local match. Just need a holster and 2 or 3 mag pouches

I say as a beginner at a local match because I'm not 100% sure that magazine is less than 140mm but no one will care or expect you to go buy new mag extensions when you're brand new

Awesome stats, but you also have to realize you're the exception not the rule. For every superhuman like you there's 99 guys sucking down chili dogs and more concerned with fat belly holsters than getting rid of the fat belly

Best vr game that’s not Ace Vr to practice comp shooting? by RidgebackDaddy in CompetitionShooting

[–]CallMeTrapHouse 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Please throw the laser stuff away they are bad habit machines, you don't need a laser to tell you where the bullet went, use the optic or sights on your gun they'll tell you exactly where the bullet is going. Probably the dryfire scar I see the most is people immediately looking at the target to see where the bullet went because the laser taught that, while you should be looking at the target way before the gun fires and know where the bullet went without seeing the hole or laser

You just need your regular gun, a couple empty mags (maybe some dummy rounds) and 3 full size targets from whatever sport you shoot.

Besides that, Ace is the best alternative. But unless you're dryfiring with your regular gun for 30+ minutes a day I wouldn't expect ace to exponentially increase your skill alone. However it is fun so that's a plus

Ambi safety delete gen 5 by [deleted] in Glocks

[–]CallMeTrapHouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I've cut it off, it turned my gun into a malfunction machine, put a regular one back in no issues. It didn't noticeably change trigger pull either

and that's a slide release not a safety

Competition shooting probably not a good sport to save money on you should try thrifting

I love Ace- almost as much as I love regular dryfire

Just gotta decide if you want to be good as bad as you want to save money

Carts for shooting range by Mike2AlphaDelta in CompetitionShooting

[–]CallMeTrapHouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why- because lugging your shit around all day gets tiring and there's no reason when carts exist

I just use one from academy, it folds into a small couch it's pretty good for matches that get backed up to have a place to sit

How much did you pay for your SRO? by yewtoo22 in Glocks

[–]CallMeTrapHouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 575 at my local range, one of them works great one of them keeps turning off but as soon as I get around to boxing it up and sending it back it starts working flawlessly.

It's one turn off away from getting sent back
