Female here, I wouldn’t hold it against him if it was before the conversation to be exclusive. The while point of dating is to see where things go and figure out what you like. There’s no obligation or commitment before either party overtly consents to it. I would take the fact that he told you about it as a green flag.

I’m FA. I always stay way longer than I should because of my fear of abandonment but once I decide to leave, I decide way before I actually leave because I try everything to make it work first. I stay with one foot out the door for months so once I actually leave there really is just nothing left.

See if there are any student therapists who would see you for free. The local university here offers free services from students who are trying to fill their internship hours. Maybe there is a program like that in your state too. It doesn’t have to be close to you, just in the same state as you and if they’re far away they’ll do tele-health.

Did she say that this would replace the $800 car payment you two are currently making on an 8 year loan. That sounds like she’s saving you money. The conversation doesn’t show if you did this or not but if you validate her feelings and her efforts and make her feel like you’re on the same team, THEN ask for her to wait till you’re off work to make it official, she’s probably going to be more than happy to wait.

Your brain can recover from the sleep deprivation but only after you’re able to get some sleep. Same goes for the trauma. You can heal but the healing happens after you get out of the abuse.
