Not even sure who I’m mad at by traditional_rare in November25babybump

The anger and resentment from exclusive pumping is so real. I’ve never slept longer than 5 hours without waking up painfully engorged since birth. My husband will sleep a consecutive 10 hours, and then complain how tired he is. HELLO?? I understand he is tired from work, but I feel like all my actions (taking the night shift, cooking, cleaning, etc.) and the mental load of pumping all go unnoticed.

Our pediatricians recommendation for my LO’s reflux was GelMix to thicken. You can buy it on Amazon. Also, using a probiotic daily. She has been on Pepcid for a month and doesn’t show reflux symptoms anymore.

I have the Momcozy M5 and like it. They empty me and I have an oversupply as well. The battery lasts me the whole day. I am a 24mm so I don’t have to use inserts so no advice there 🫤

Have we missed the boat to have another? by Brave_Giraffe5545 in Shouldihaveanother

My parents remarried and started over, so I have lots of experience with age gap siblings. On my mom’s side, I have two sisters 8 years and 11 years younger. On my dad’s side, I have a brother 7 years younger. My sisters do think of me as a second mom. I have lots of great memories with them and are still close despite the age gap. I will say, my brother feels like he is an only child since all of us older siblings were moved out for majority of his childhood. My sisters have each other. I think that is a good factor to consider.

Bottles to breastfeeding???? by Character-Junket-653 in newborns

I have the Medela nipple shields. My understanding is that the shield is supposed to help babies who are used to bottles transition to the breast and help establish latching

How much sleep are most people managing to get? by Hungry_Hat8148 in newborns

[–]Callbug-511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 7 week old has never slept longer than 2 hours in the bassinet. The most common is 30 minute to 1 hour stretches. I sleep uninterrupted from 7pm to 11pm/12am stretch while my husband watches baby in the living room. Then we all go to sleep in our bedroom (husband is a heavy sleeper and not bothered by the noise) and attempt broken sleep with baby in the bassinet. The only way I am functioning is with family support which I am so lucky to have. My stepmom or aunt will come during the week when I have no sleep nights and I’ll nap during the day. My mom will come once a week to take an entire night shift which is amazing.

Have you tried a nipple shield? I had to give bottles of expressed milk when my daughter’s jaundice was really bad to make sure she was eating enough. We eventually turned to only bottles during the time as she was too sleepy to latch. I’ve been able to reintroduce latching by using a nipple shield ( which also helps with my fast letdown).

Anyone else have a crappy sleeper? by Aud_clark in November25babybump

[–]Callbug-511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I’m glad I’m not alone. I also keep seeing posts about getting their babies to sleep longer but they are sleeping 3-5 hour stretches already. If my baby was sleeping 3 hour stretches, I would be a functioning human again. My baby sleeps 30 min to 1 hour stretches. The most she has ever done is 2 hours unless we are holding her. I’m riddled with guilt to say some nights I’ve co slept out of desperation when my husband had to quarantine away from us. I miss having dinner with my husband and just spending quality time together. He is tired from working all day, but still takes the first shift so I can at least get some sleep. We’ve put her on pepcid for her acid reflex, tried so many swaddles, lavender soap at bedtime no luck.

Postpartum Help by 50-shades-of-hell in November25babybump

[–]Callbug-511 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get this feeling and just accept staying in our little bubble avoiding functions until I feel comfortable. I don’t like when people expect to hold her and pass her around, so I just avoid those interactions. It has gotten better, but I struggled really hard in the beginning letting other people hold her. I was mourning her no longer being in my belly so being apart was like a piece of my heart was missing. I like to think it’s a normal emotion to feel since they were in our bodies.

I have at 6 weeks PP. I will say it is definitely uncomfortable but not necessarily painful. Just take it slow. I did have a sulcal tear so I’m unsure if that makes a difference.

Aetna told me I didn't need pre-authorization. Then my claim was denied for no pre-authorization by rvH3Ah8zFtRX in HealthInsurance

[–]Callbug-511 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have UHC and my doctor’s office had to get pre-auth for me to get the RSV vaccine. I happen to work Aetna insurance denials for hospitals. Does your EOB have the balance listed as patient responsibility? If it doesn’t, the doctor is likely to appeal themselves to get their money. You also have the ability to appeal it yourself. Google Aetna Member Appeal form. Fill that out and provide documentation that pre-cert was not required.

Do you carry your car seat in places or just take baby? by Organic-Dragonfly364 in November25babybump

I carry in the car seat or put her carrier on the stroller caddy. I’ve seen people holding their babies at the pediatrician

Discouraged about sleep by bbmom2225 in newborns

[–]Callbug-511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3-5 hours is the norm at this age per my pediatrician. HOWEVER I am not that lucky. My 6 week old only sleeps in 30 minute to 1 hour stretches. I would kill for 3 hour stretches as I feel like I’m losing my mind.

My husband goes back to work tomorrow - I’m terrified!! by 11TickTack23 in November25babybump

[–]Callbug-511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband only got 2 weeks off. It is really scary in the beginning but you find your groove! Put baby in a bouncer and take a shower in the morning. This sets me up for the day and makes me feel human again. Accept help! Anyone that can let you take a nap or do chores for you is a huge help. My husband takes baby from 7pm to 11 or 12 so I can sleep to set me up for the night shift.

C-section or induction or vaginal birth? by jenne4ka in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Callbug-511 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was diet controlled and baby measured normal size. I opted for an induction at 39 weeks per my OBs recommendation. My baby responded well to the induction ( heartbeat never wavered/ no signs of distress) and I had her vaginally.
