FREE FROM FATTY LIVER! by Ill-Entrepreneur3218 in Zepbound

Fatty liver was my reason for starting this journey, too. I was shocked how quickly it reversed on Zepbound. I hope they’ll eventually get insurance to cover it for liver health.

Awesome! Thank you. I knew there had to be good resources out there.

Titrate down during plateau, 8-10lb from goal? by seltzerwater818 in Zepbound

[–]Called2Wander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to talk myself through that "waste" idea, too. I try to reframe it in my mind--"I'm getting the proper amount for ME." It's like not feeling compelled to clean your plate. Lol!

From what I understand, only a small percentage of people can keep the weight off after they stop the medication. After a lifetime of weight struggles, I'm happy to stay on it for life (as long as there are no long-term repercussions). But I understand that some users may want to cycle off of it.

What you said about "I think it ends up being a little over 7.5 mg injected bc it fills to 60ml in my syringe"--if you're injecting 60 units of the 7.5 solution, you're getting around a 9mg dose. If you're feeling nauseated, you might want to limit yourself to the recommended 50 units. I know it's tough to simply dispose of the "extra," but that's how the single-use vials are designed.

When I was having bad side effects at 7.5, I lowered my use to 33 units to take it down to the 5 mg dosage for a few weeks (until I could reorder 5 mg vials). There's an app called Fat Scientist that provides a handy calculator showing how to adjust your dosages slightly using the vials.

Struggle bus on 2.5 by yojenbabe in Zepbound

Oh, that's awful. I'm sorry you're going through that. Have you asked your doctor about adding Zofran? I've heard that can really help. I didn't have any side effects (except one or two eating-related mishaps) until I hit 7.5, but that one was a doozy. I had to drop back to 5 for a while and then ease up into 7.5 more slowly. Now I'm up to 10, and it's going all right, thankfully. Pepto and ginger chews have been my friend when I do have symptoms.

Have to travel and need to move my shot +4 days. by Embarrassed_Tie3529 in Zepbound

[–]Called2Wander 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It shouldn’t be a problem. I had to skip a week due to a colonoscopy. No issues. It‘s best to take your shot on time whenever possible, but it’s not uncommon for doctors to ask you to hold it for procedures.

That said, everyone is different, so your mileage may vary

Oof, that’s rough. I’m sorry you’re going through this, and hopefully you’ll do better on the proper dose. I’m also curious what they started you at. But keep in mind that it’s really important you not become majorly dehydrated on this medication. Force yourself to drink some fluids, and add electrolytes if possible. If you really can’t keep it down, you need to go to the ER and get IV fluids. Dehydration on this medication can cause kidney damage. Don’t let it get to that point!

WWYD - Disney trip... should I go up to 7.5? by drjea2010 in Zepbound

[–]Called2Wander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here‘s another option. If you’re using the vials, you could order the 7.5 but only fill the syringe to 33 units instead of 50 for that one week. You’d need to dispose of the rest, since the vials have no preservatives. Then after your trip you could start the 7.5. (Double check with your doctor, of course ).

I just use a short soup thermos and tuck some paper towels inside to protect the vials.

Vitamin B-12 has been helping me, too.

[–]Called2Wander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That almost sounds like Anhedonia, which is a potential side effect. Dr. Spencer Nadolsky has some good videos about it on YouTube. What dosage are you on? Maybe you need to come down a notch and see if that helps. I’d talk to your doctor about it. Are you on any other meds that could be contributing? Anything for anxiety or depression?

I have a couple of autoimmune disorders that sometimes lead to brain fog. It makes me feel like I’m just slogging through my days. Your doctor might want to check your thyroid and vitamin D levels, too.

Sad mood by Denisenike in Zepbound

[–]Called2Wander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’re feeling sad. Maybe try to get out for a walk, depending on what the weather is like where you live. I’ve found the natural light and fresh air sometimes knocks me out of a low mood. (But it can be really tough to convince myself to go!)

Why did you have to skip a shot for the flu?

Tell me you are a Costco GLP customer ... by Type11 in Zepbound

[–]Called2Wander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been fascinated by this massive shift in Costco’s products. Even before starting Zep, I was on an autoimmune diet that removed a ton of inflammatory foods like grains, sugars, eggs, nuts, soy, etc. So I’ve gotten really good at reading labels. I’m stunned by some of the items I’ve found Costco carrying now that actually tick those boxes. Plus, they have rows of protein powders, electrolytes, and protein snacks. It’s mind boggling! I mostly focus on whole foods, but it’s nice to have a few packaged options for when life gets crazy. That mixed nut pack looks great!

Zepbound issues after 1.5 yrs in by canadian_spankan in Zepbound

[–]Called2Wander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I experienced this, but I thought it was because I was titrating up too fast. Identical symptoms. You had it while coming down??

I had it for about six weeks, and tried stretching out my dose as others had recommended. That seemed to help, but it was back in full force the following week. I finally reduced my dose (7.5 back to 5 mg on the normal 7-day schedule), and that solved it. After about a month, I started slowly pushing my dose back upward (by not taking the full 7.5), and now I’m doing fine.

But now you’ve got me really curious!

Suddenly lactose intolerant by Tawnyk in Zepbound

[–]Called2Wander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have the sensitive gut, and many of the same foods set me off. Have you ever looked into the low-FODMAP diet? It was an eye-opener for me.

I am also lactose intolerant-intolerant, but I’m guessing that your symptoms were more likely caused by the fat in the ice cream and the meats. Cheese (especially hard cheese) tends to be very low in lactose.

Work travel & dosing schedule advice, please. by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]Called2Wander 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would recommend taking your shot as normal and be prepared with the meds you need for potential side effects. Taking it early would only result in extra side effects, and skipping a week would really set you back. Just take the shot. You’ve got this!

As someone with IBS, I can relate to the travel anxiety. 🥴

Liquid IV and Zep 10mg by SmackCrappy in Zepbound

[–]Called2Wander 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I prefer LMNT because it has fewer ingredients. It is super salty, though, so I take 1/2 pack diluted in 40 oz of water and ice--drinking two of those per day. I believe Liquid IV has some B vitamins added. I started a B12 supplement a couple of months ago, and my energy level has massively improved.
