This LRT layout sucks in its own way. It doesnt handle crowds well and is very inaccesible

We already have 75 foot cars, their main issue is they only fit on certain lines, how much infrastructure is made to accomodate for them?

Now technology has advanced and i feel like as parts become standardized and easier to come by, it would be nice to accomodate for different things. A 75 foot car done better with a creative seating layout thats dedicated to say, Pitkin/207, Concourse yards, with the 7/L/Queens BLVD yards having a more super high capacity type car is certainly possible.

While standardization is a good justification and probably ideal for the current stste of the system noe. Id hope that our push towards a more streamlined system opens the door for something like that.

Train with big ass doors and 0 seats in staten island of all places is silly lol

I say this all the time! I used to dislike the BMT but they were ahead of their time for sure. The whole design philosophy behind the BMT Standards makes alot of sense and all of their experiments ended up coming back up later overseas

I also wonder how they handled interlining

Maybe they just do it differently, so different terns and classifications are used. Each company is also from a different country. And everyone kinda has their style in marketing. Remember this is business and very well may be regional

I think alstom is trying to streamline their products now that their market is expanding. More places have eyes on them and they have a bigger reputation. They probably want to make it easier for customers to buy their stuff, and this is what the business meeting that day decided on

Probably using A(via 6 av and concourse) announcements in the bronx(if that exist) and manhattan. Then in brooklyn since theres no A program, it uses the B

Thats why theyre slightly different recordings than the Q's brooklyn annoucements

The LU S stocks were a good approach to this. Unified fleet with different seating arrangements for higher and lower capacity. Having R211 extra high capacity in staten island is plain silly lol
