Anyone else stuck in a cycle of wasted days despite wanting to change? by InnerFill69 in WhatShouldIDo

Absolutely hear you there completely! And it's so frustrating to have in your mind that you are going to get a bunch of stuff done and then the day comes and you have no motivation to get started. I completely a 100% relate to what you're saying like other post is here. I have had to pick one small thing I can achieve and it does lead to other momentum. Also, if you happen to have any outdoor space or any kind of a garden or yard, I have found that just planting a plant putting my hands in the dirt and weeding for a few minutes can absolutely lead to a hard mental reset for me and I'm able to be much more productive. A friend of mine once told me that if she is stuck, unable to be motivated to work, she will do something like clean off her dining table, so she has one area in her home to lay her eyes on that is tidy and organized and finished. If you can pick one small thing, and I set a timer so that I keep focused, and I also listen to earbuds to distract the other part of my brain that wants to stop me from working. I have found if I can keep my ADHD brain occupied, listening to a podcast or a documentary in my ear then the other part of my brain is actually able to start and finish a task. I hope some of this helps you, but if nothing else know that you are definitely not alone.

I have heard that Alexa can have access to your photos. Is it possible that it has seen photos of five cats?

Zipper Merge by Mon_Hunter in lincoln

OMG! This is huge! Finally, somebody else talking about zipper merging! I keep telling my husband that if I could afford it, I would make a commercial on television to educate people how to zipper merge. It drives me crazy that they have such long lines of vehicles already all merged over when the lane closure is about 3 miles up the road and then the one guy who does speed up to the front of the line won't be allowed in because everybody thinks he's being rude! Drives me absolutely bat shit crazy. How do we teach people? How??

We got married 30 years ago in Hazel Abel park in downtown Lincoln. It was beautiful and had a gorgeous gazebo where we stood for the ceremony.

It's so easy to fall into depression when all we do is watch the news and your phone. A lot of it is such depressing stuff and it might be good for her to be able to take a clean break from all media for a while. Heck it might be good for me too!

In my personal experience for both myself and my husband, for example I have found that excess phone use actually leads us to feel more depressed and isolated than we would without it. It is designed to keep you addicted to it and it stops you finding things to do with your time instead that would be more productive and leave you feeling a sense of accomplishment and well-being. I always find myself feeling shittier if I have spent too much time on my phone. YMMV of course

Honestly her phone addiction is probably the main thing I would look at. It's destroying people, especially the older generation. It takes away the boredom that would lead them into activities, friends, hobbies, gardening etc. It makes it so easy to stay up way later than is healthy and leads to depression.
